About Resident Evil Village - Deluxe Edition

About this game

Experience survival horror like never before with your Resident Evil Village - Deluxe Edition Steam PC key. In the eighth major installment in the storied Resident Evil franchise, you'll once again assume the role of RE7 protagonist Ethan Winters in terrifying first-person action with new enemies to face.

Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. But as they begin to build their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again.

Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from previous Resident Evil games, suddenly disrupts their life - throwing a devastated Ethan into a new and twisted nightmare in search of answers. Chris has typically been a hero in the Resi Evil series, but his appearance in Resident Evil Village seemingly shrouds him in sinister motives.

Experience every heart-pounding, up-close battle and terrifying pursuit through a first-person perspective. You'll fend off against nightmarish beings and explore new locations all built with the powerful and updated RE Engine previously used in Resident Evil 7, the Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 3 remakes, and Devil May Cry 5.

More than just a mysterious backdrop for the horrifying events that unfold in the game, the village is a character in its own right with mysteries for Ethan to uncover and terrors to escape from.

Witness a host of new adversaries inhabiting the enigmatic village that will relentlessly hunt Ethan and hinder his every move as he attempts to make sense of the new nightmare he finds himself in. Test your nerve beyond the realms of Resident Evil's notorious zombies and Las Plagas parasite-controlled beings with a new threat... Lycans (werewolves!)

Escape the towering presence of the vampiric Lady Dimitrescu, the sinister witches and many more. Familiar characters including Chris Redfield will arrive in the village, and you'll discover why.

See iconic Resident Evil characters come together in heated battles with Resident Evil Re:Verse, the new online multiplayer game from Capcom. Test your skills against other players in four to six-person deathmatch battles.

Play as beloved characters from the Resident Evil series and turn the tides of battle with powerful bioweapons. When your character is taken out, their body transforms into a powerful bioweapon that can be used against other players.

Pick up multiple Virus Capsules to transform into even stronger bioweapons. Getting revenge with a bioweapon is also a great chance for more points!

Take part in 5-minute Deathmatches, where the player with the most points wins! Use the weapons and items you find to take down even more powerful enemies!

The Resident Evil Village - Deluxe Edition also includes The Trauma Pack, which includes memorabilia such as the Samurai Edge weapon, the Mr. Everywhere accessory, a screen filter, special safe room background music, and many more items to amplify your Resident Evil Village experience!

  • Deluxe Edition bonus content: The Trauma Pack.
  • Terrifying first-person action with 'No load times'.

"The sequel to Resident Evil 7 leans heavily on Resident Evil 4's brand of action, but adds its own sensibilities to the mix."

After hitting its stride again with RE7 and the REmakes, Village represents a masterful return to form for the franchise that revolutionized the genre time and time again, this time using RE4, perhaps its most well beloved entry, as a base. In my opinion, rather than serving as a modern imitation, Village surpasses RE4 with more exploration, more puzzles, more collectibles, and an improved crafting system carried over from 7. The story is intriguing and emotional, the graphics and art design are gorgeous, the characters and performances are iconic, there is absolutely no reason to miss this game.

Its like if 4 and 7 made love and had a baby and instead of leon being the daddy its chris redfield. Its that good. minus the microstutters because of the DRM, but rumor is capcom is going to remove the drm soon, maybe they already did. Although i dont remember having any microstutters when i played through. maybe its hardware related as well.

Resident Evil Village takes some of the best parts of fan favorites RE4 and RE7 and combines them into an amazing package. It's not perfect, but it's still a fantastic experience through and through. A direct sequel to RE7, Village follows the same protagonist, Ethan Winters, as he ventures in a foreign town after disgrace hits his family and tries to put his life back together. Unfortunately for him, the past seems unable to let him go and he finds himself yet again dragged into a fight with monsters and insanely powerful people. Gameplay aspects returning from RE7 are the first person perspective, the crafting system, the permanent character upgrades and the foreboding sense of terror and loneliness. From RE4 the "inventory system tetris" is back, alongside the ability to upgrade weapons, the salesman, the hidden gems and valuables that can be sold and action setpieces that will sometimes have you blasting your way against dozens of enemies at the same time. Also from past games is the ability to pursue challenges and gain points, which can be exchanged for prizes that either affect gameplay (such as new weapons or infinite ammo) or give you collectibles such as concept art and models. While the push for action might make it look like the game can't be as scary as its predecessor, this game contains several areas that will test your bravery and one section is, without a doubt, the most terrifying that this franchise has ever been. But still, even the action parts are good fun. Granted, the shift in tone might not be to everyone's liking. If you prefer the total horror of RE7 or the complete campiness of RE4 you're bound to be disappointed when the tone changes. If you're OK with both, you'll love it all. Visually, the game looks great and runs surprisingly well, even in middle-end PCs, but it's prone to sudden slowdowns in certain areas. This is usually fixed by reloading a save, but how often it'll happen seems to depend on chance. You can go for hours and never encounter this problem or find it several times in a row. It'll also depend on your system, of course, so you might never encounter this problem at all. And speaking of slowing down, this game sadly follows the trend many games have lately of including a few "slow walk" areas that remove your ability to run to add some cheap attempt at ambience. I wish games stopped doing that, it never works as intended. Thankfully, it's the only thing in this game that counts as padding. Everything...
