About Rift Adventure

About this game

Rift Adventure is a 2D platformer with action, adventure and RPG elements set in a vivid fantasy world. You are an adventurer that lives for treasure and excitement, but after seeing your friend and adventuring partner being captured by a great evil, you must also understand your place in your community, and how your actions affect those around you.

Explore numerous stages, all crafted with pixel-art graphics, and return to your city to rest, heal, interact with NPC citizens and buy items and resources with the money obtained in your adventures. Your community changes with every choice you make. Will you think in what's best for all, or will your choices benefit only you?

In Rift Adventure, the player will learn to juggle their own wants and needs with that of those around them, as well as understand the importance of being a good member of their community in a natural, organic way. Engage with the game's well-developed mechanics of taxation and economic stability and growth, and see your city thrive - or suffer - in the face of your decisions.

Explore the world through the eyes of Aksius, a sword-wielding bunny, and later unlock Krinis, his gun-toting cat partner, to adventure through the game's many levels. Manage your inventory and resources, and choose your strategy carefully in the face of the many dangers you'll encounter.

Rift Adventure is a lovely little platformer game, not overly difficult, not overly easy, not too long, not too short, just right. The retro pixelart is beautiful, it's really well done. Soundtrack is also great, matches the game theme perfectly. So, if you like platformers and/or pixelart games, I say you should definetely give this one a try.

This game is a level-based, hack-n-slash platformer with a simple equipment system. You enter a level via portal, clear it, trade in town, repeat. If you die, you start from the beginning of the level, but you retain any treasure collected and lose any consumables used. Every few turns (check with the guard captain) you'll be forced to defend the town. Immediately after exiting a dungeon level, the battle will start. You have whatever items you have left after the level, and that's it. There is a town upgrade system, but keeping it maxed doesn't seem troublesome. The town only downgrades if you fail to defend the town or shop at the black market. Luckily, money is plentiful, which negates the only real reason to use the black market. I like the art style, and several of the NPCs have fun designs. As far as I've played, everything stands out well from its surroundings, and (once you know what to look for) you won't even be getting surprised by traps. The story is straightforward: evil lord, kidnapped friend, save the town.
