Rise of Insanity is a first-person psychological horror game, with additional support for VR, which draws inspiration from greatest psychological horror movies such as The Shining, The Exorcist and Silent Hill.

Set in America in the 1970's, the story centers around Dr. Stephen Dowell, a renowned psychologist faced with a difficult patient who shows distinct yet contradictory symptoms of different mental disorders.
The life of the doctor himself is also shrouded in mystery – you must step into his shoes to find out the truth.

What terrible fate has befallen your wife and child? Is your new patient, on whom you are testing your experimental treatment methods, somewhat responsible for what happened? Who is to blame?
Don’t lose your nerve and overcome your fear.

Played With VR Headset Oculus Quest 2 I have Epilepsy/ Seizures And Can Confirm This May not be the Game To Play if You have epilepsy effected by Flashing Lights or Specific white and red type lights. But That Is Not Why I would Give This Game a 5 out of 10. Story wise Without any spoilers I think it was too long for telling a short story. You Try To Make Mystery of it But The Story Was Obvious. Game Play wise It is A Basic Point and click game with some small puzzles and I normally like these games but I think just my opinion on the story and theme alone may be what drew me away from this game. The Puzzles weren't that difficult or challenging enough which makes it just point and click rather than puzzles in my opinion. Bugs: Found on 7-15-2022 - played on the vr device oculus mode through steam. when you come back in the game to continue it adds either a solid space in front of you to the left or just gets your body in the game unaligned with your vr device. even resetting the device and location doesn't fix it. The Lock On the cabinet to put the code in at the police station does not let you put the code in on VR mode. I had to switch to regular mouse and keyboard mode and continue to do it. The plain white and red colors effect seizure wise but could be fixed with slight color changes so not as direct of a color. Maybe a seperate color mode option to avoid that part. I had 3 seizures during this game but understand the warning. For seizures Direct White and red lights you try to avoid. Just tinting it with another color or dimming it helps lighten the effect.

Cute little psychological horror game. I've always found the spiral into madness fascinating and quite horrifying, so this game scratched my particular itch. The atmosphere has a nice creepy feel to it, the sfx is solid (wear headphones) and the storyline, while not the most original, is interesting enough to keep you motivated.

Great game. I enjoyed the story line and the jump scares. A bit on the shorter side but otherwise I highly recommend it.
