Roadwarden

It's a brilliant game with excellent writing. Be clear what the game is!! It's a Renpy interactive fiction game. There's a lot of dialogue, puzzle solving, and combat is primarily reduced to typing out "dodge" or "cast spell" once in a while. You will spend 95% of the game reading, and while that's not for everyone, if it's your kind of thing, you're going to love it. But the writing, the music, the pixel graphics... It's all so captivating. And the feeling of making a real tangible impact on a living breathing world is exactly what I'm looking for in a game like this. This developer understands stories; they understand video games; they have a clear vision of empowering the player in a pitch black, bleak low-magic fantasy setting. And while I haven't finished the game, the first ten hours have been some of the best gaming I've EVER experienced.

There is something undeniably charming about retro games that bring back childhood memories. On the one hand, we have a classic choose-your-own-adventure text style RPG from the books or old games and, on the other, we have nice visuals and a ton of content that only modern computers are capable of. It's another great little game for people that want to relive their gaming experience from the past but it's also a game that will captivate a new generation of gamers who are playing this kind of game for the first time.

While I'm not a fan of text based games, Roadwarden has been a pretty nice experience. Greatly surprised by the quality of it's writing, that it immerses you into it's world right away. I have not been able to finish it as my schedule has been horrible, but I'd definitely recommend it to almost everyone.

Honestly pretty good game overall, retro graphics inspire nostolgia and are overall just cute.

This is a solid game for text rpg players. It is difficult in the sense that the game expects you to pay attention to details that might not be relevant until hours later. I liked the setting and world building, having even "normal" animals like horses being viewed as monsters makes for a unique perspective. I got it as part of a bundle, but it's worth the buy on its own.

I have spent many hours on this game and I can see replaying this a lot! It has an engaging story and compelling characters, and it's so easy to play. I really like the severity and immediacy of your choices, and survival is FAR from assured. There are so many different story hooks to follow that you could easily end up with a different story from multiple playthroughs. I really love the gritty pseudo-western feel of this game!
