About Roguebook

About this game

Combine the best synergies between cards, relics, and abilities to take on ancient forces with your Roguebook Steam PC key. In this adventure strategy RPG, you are trapped in the Book of Lore of Faeria, and each page represents a new challenge.

Prepare to lead your two heroes to victory in this roguelike deckbuilder developed in partnership with Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: The Gathering.

WHAT HAS AWOKEN?
The ancients speak of a Book written since time immemorial containing all the world's legends. After many fabulous adventures, recounted in Faeria - Chronicles of Gagana, this relic was lost in a well of Faeria. Through contact with this source of magic, the Book developed a wicked free will of its own and became the Roguebook!

LEGENDARY HEROES
Choose two heroes to start a game, with six hero pairs available. Each hero has a collection of over 50 cards, a personal relic, and a unique skill tree.

Maximize synergies - the hero at the front protects the hero at the back. Switch the positions of your heroes and combine their strengths to unleash powerful combos.

Skilfully anticipate and queue up your actions to defeat over 40 bosses and enemies.

BUILD YOUR DECK AS YOU PLAY
Access over 200 cards to cleverly assemble as the game progresses. You will never play with the same deck twice.

Upgrade your cards with 30 special gems, and collect 80 relics with extraordinary effects.

More cards, more power! Each hero has a unique skill tree to unlock. Collect cards and select the best skills!

FOREVER-CHANGING WORLD
It's the book that changes each time you open it. The map along with its mysteries and dangers are procedurally generated for a brand-new challenge every time.

Paint the world... The Roguebook's pages are composed of hexagonal tiles. Use magic inks that reveal different patterns to fully explore each page.

Merchants, travelers, ruins, quests, etc. Lots of chances to obtain cards and relics… or to fall into a trap!

EACH RUN COUNTS
Enjoy hours and hours of fun - with 20 hours on average to beat the game, hundreds of hours to unlock everything. Collect pages and use them to buy upgrades. Level up your heroes to unlock new cards.

Defeat the final boss to unlock the Epilogue level. Each level grants access to new relics, gems, and encounters, but also spawns tougher enemies.

YOUR OFFICIAL ROGUEBOOK STEAM PC KEY INCLUDES:

  • 20 difficulty levels.
  • Over 200 cards to collect.
  • Relics with unique powers.
  • Multiple heroes with unique skill trees to unlock.
  • Roguelike deckbuilder developed in partnership with Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: The Gathering.

In the recent years many games where build in this ganre, with clear contience I can say that Roguebook is in top 5, good story, different playstale on each character and lots of cards sinergy.

I enjoy it for what it is, but it has some issues. First, it crashes randomly. Second, the encounter balance is off. Some battles are a cake walk with the next one a nightmare. It's not really a deck build issue either. Some battles just have enemies with kits that are hard to deal with no matter what you have. I think, even with its issues, it's worth buying if you like the genre, but probably wait for a good sale.

It's from the mind that created Magic the Gathering - what more do you need to know?!

I've been playing Magic the Gathering since Beta (paper), played the Microprose short-lived game (loved it) and Magic On-line (since before 8th edition), so needless to say, I like card games. I enjoyed Slay the Spire and Monster Train and Inscryption as well as a few others, but NONE has come close to the level of Rogeubook. This is a truly ingenious game which I have sunk more hours into than all other card games (excluding MtG). The progression system is fantastic and challenging but fair. You never feel it's impossible and are, rather, left with that "just one more run" feeling upon completion (win or lose). The diversity of characters and the cards they have at their disposal, as well as the trinkets that you can acquire along the way make each run unique and fun. Best of the best and highly recommended

My Favorite Deckbuilder

I enjoy deckbuilders and right now this is my favorite one to play. The customizations on the challenge level keep the game interesting and adds a puzzle-like aspect that other deckbuilders do not have. I am very hopeful that the developer will release expansions or a sequel.

Different enough from Slay the Spire and Monster Train. Nice synergies (or lack thereof) between hero pairs. Some very clever cards (many impossible to replicate in an analog game).

Solid Deckbuilding Game

An Old Gamer
Verified purchase
I like deckbuilding games in general, both board and video. I've enjoyed this one as it makes some small changes to the formulas used in other games by having a more open world to explore. If you've enjoyed other games in this genre like StS and Monster Train, this is a nice one to try.

Top Notch Roguelike Deckbuilder, cream of the crop. Needs graphics settings for 5 stars

Fantastic game, in terms of roguelike deckbuilders, this has to be near the top. Now that the genre is growing in leaps and bounds, it seems a new roguelike deckbuilder is around every day! This rises to the top. It does have its problems though, mainly that you cannot lower, alter or change is graphics settings. This causes the game to run slowly unless you have a full up to specs gaming rig (which shouldn't be needed for a roguelike deckbuilder), but don't get me wrong, the graphics and style is tremendous and top notch. I have multiple comps on different platforms, all are more than capable for gaming, yet all of them have trouble running this game. So i will be putting my play on hiatus, until I can find a way to play the game without choppy lag.
