RIDE WITH SHADOWHAND

Shadowhand is a strategic RPG card game. Duel powerful enemies with unique solitaire-style turn-based combat. Equip your character strategically to sneak, slice and blast through foes!

SET IN LATE 18TH CENTURY ENGLAND

We follow the story of Lady Cornelia Darkmoor, a beguiling young aristocrat who masquerades as the notorious highwaywoman, Shadowhand. Fleeing a crime scene and forced to act under the cover of darkness, Shadowhand's mission to safeguard a woman she holds dear leads to a web of corruption, smuggling and blackmail.

IT'S TIME TO STAND AND DELIVER - YOUR FORTUNE AND FREEDOM ARE AT STAKE

Combining an historical visual novel narrative with a card-driven RPG, Shadowhand's story spans 22 chapters of atmospheric locations including stormy coastlines, mysterious woods and gloomy manors. Featuring over 150 levels of elegant and intense single-player card action, players must dodge the law and brawl with outlaws in turn-based combat, gaining abilities to customize their character and collect new weapons, gear and loot.

Even though I have ever growing backlog of games (thank you, fanatical bundles), I actually managed to play Shadow Hand from start to the ending rolls. To get negatives out of the way - the story quickly lost me. It's like MC's maid is kidnapped by bandits, so she disguises herself as a bandit. Then to the first met person she's totally not suspicious, so he gives her a gun (with which she later on murders some random sketchy people). Then maid unkidnaps herself and is working for the pirates. Then your MC is working for the pirates (or maybe she was a pirate all along? Hard to tell)... Sometimes I stopped just to wonder what's the deal of all those people. Gameplay is fun. It's starts with basic card solitaires, but every so often introduces the new ideas like interactive elements (in ex. you drag a torch to explosives to get rid of some cards), skills that allow "cheating", or PvE against gradually more demanding (or gimmicky) opponents. So things aren't becoming too stale. For its price Shadow Hand offers fair amount of content. Playing on the highest difficulty it took me about 20h to finish the game. Such a route allows to get all the steam achievements, but some players can replay chosen chapters to get maximal number of stars (a grading system) from all the stages. 7/10

Pretty decent solitaire-esque game. Interesting tale to go along with it. Look to get it on discount and if you don't have other things to play. Decent option for a lightweight travel type game.

It's just another Solitaire game. If you like Solitaire, you may try. If you don't know what Solitaire is or you don't like Solitaire, you won't like this game.

If your into relaxing solitaire card/tile matching games then give this a try

Simple solitaire card game where you match cards that is one higher or one lower than your current card. Use the combo points to activate skills and weapons that damage the opponent. It's very much luck driven and while their are RPG elements like attributes points, weapons, gear and special skill cards it is a bit arbitrary. Theres also a story but it feels a bit tacked on and not realy needed for what is essentially a very simple game. If your into relaxing solitaire card/tile games then give this a try.

Simple looking on the surface but complex enough under the hood

My Shadowhand Video Review is available here: https://youtu.be/fJLkfrqzy-0 Has Shadowhand: RPG Card Game managed to deliver an addictive card battler with an RPG system that is interesting and complex enough that can glue you to the monitor for a long time? There are many pluses on the game - catching historical story full of twists, charming and charismatic main hero, easy to learn game mechanics, complex RPG systems providing many ways to customize your character, many ideas enhancing classic solitaire game concept, 3 levels of difficulty, user friendly interface, beautiful hand-drawn graphics, atmospheric orchestral music, distinctive sounds and addictiveness. One needs to search carefully for the minuses - maybe too static presentation with the absence of dubbing that would make the game atmosphere even better and the system of luck that goes too much against you sometimes. Pros: - story - charismatic main hero - easy to learn - complex RPG systems - refreshing new ideas - 3 levels of difficulty - user friendly interface - graphics - music - sounds - addictiveness Cons: - static presentation - absence of dubbing - luck goes too much against the player sometimes I was thinking that Shadowhand: RPG Card Game will only be one of these shallow card battlers that bring only basic RPG elements mainly for the advertising purpose and the story that could be written by the 10 year old kid. I am glad that I was wrong this time as the game delivers exact opposite of this - it is easy to understand but there are complex RPG elements under its cover which along with refreshing ideas provide a lot of space for customization and various tactics and all of this is wrapped up into beautiful audiovisuals with catching story as the cherish on the top. The game glued me to the monitor for several hours which is another proof of its quality. With the good voice acting and less static presentation the game would be just perfect in its genre. Like this I have still enjoyed it a lot and thus I am giving Shadowhand Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s Index 8+ out of 10 - recommended!

great solitaire game with the right amount of depth

This is a pretty fun game if you enjoy solitaire gameplay. The story is pretty corny and I mostly skip through dialog at this point. The skill tree and inventory system are simple and intuitive. It's a perfect chill game to play in front of the TV since you don't need any quick reaction. If like Solitairica you'll like this one.
