"Sine Mora EX is an excellent shoot em up with a dark narrative and some really nice boss fights and is only held back by a few flaws and its asking price."

Good looking shmups, rather slow gameplay

Great looking shmup with rather slow gameplay. Visually polished, but gameplay could be improved upon.

"Sine Mora Ex" is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up. It’s a remastered version of the original game with improved graphics and gameplay. The storyline set in a world where time is the ultimate currency. You can take control of various characters and their aircraft, each with their own unique abilities and weapons, as they battle through waves of enemies and bosses. The visuals are pretty stunning, with detailed environments, vivid colors, and impressive special effects. The music and sound effects also add to the immersive experience. The gameplay can be kind challenging but rewarding, with a variety of difficulty levels to choose from. The game features a nice time-manipulation mechanic, so you can slow down or speed up time which is pretty fun. Overall, "Sine Mora Ex" is a well-crafted shoot 'em up game that offers a unique and engaging experience.

Not bad.

There are so few side scrollers and when you have an itch to scratch, you have an itch to scratch. I would recommend this game, but also --- maybe more bark than bite.

Original shoot em up ruined by couple of bad design decisions

Fanatical User

My Video Review is available here: https://youtu.be/1STDwo2CZS4 Can I recommend Sine Mora EX to non-hardcore players with their families? There are for sure many pros - original game concept based on time, useful power-ups, time manipulation ability, wide variety of enemies, variability of the environment, precise controls, beautiful graphics and atmospheric sounds along with dubbing. However, there are also the cons that I can hardly overlook - hard to follow story, frequent flying through the narrow caves, the punishing difficulty making you repeat the whole game over once you run out of continues and uninspiring music. Sine Mora EX contains local multiplayer and also three other game modes. These features would make the game perfectly suitable for family playing. Unfortunately, the frequent narrow caves along with a limited number of continues making you start the whole game over once you run out of it make the game frustrating rather than enjoyable. Pros: - original game concept - useful power-ups - time manipulation - variability of enemies and environment - controls - graphics - sounds Cons: - confusing story - flying through narrow caves - punishing difficulty - music It is a shame that a couple of bad design decisions ruined the game with such original mechanics and beautiful presentation. With a heavy heart I am giving Sine Mora EX Thumbs Down and VideoGaming Father’s Index 5+ out of 10 - not recommended.

Staff Review
Sine Mora EX takes what we love from classic side-scrolling shooters and adds thumping techno music, quirky 2.5D graphics, and absolute chaos. Bullets, lasers, bombs - you name it, it's on the screen! With 7 stages to venture through, players will be ducking and diving in caves and racing across beautiful blue oceans while attacking large menacing ships.
