Pan Dimensional Being
I'm not exactly a "Sonic purist." I'm glad they ported the GameCube version instead of the original Dreamcast version. There are a number of noticeable improvements in lighting, graphics, and sound between the original and the DX Director's Cut. I know some people may want the original version available, but trust me this one works a lot better and looks a lot prettier. This is the first true 3D Sonic game. Yes 3D Blast is a thing, but it's not quite the same. For this first jaunt into full 3D gameplay Sega did a fine job. It's a bit hard to imagine certain characters moving out of 2D into 3D and for me I was concerned it wouldn't work. I mean the point is to move way too fast from start to finish, dodging enemies and grabbing rings along the way. Despite my concerns though this game works. The homing attack is a great way to use Sonic's spin jump to hit enemies without trying to maneuver mid air to collide with them and makes for some interesting boss battles. Though you do fly off platforms sometimes when running, I feel it isn't often enough that it's a major issue. You just have to remember not to get close to the barrier at that part next time. Of course that's just the Sonic portion. The big difference for this game is the addition of separate characters having their own unique gameplay. Yes Tails and Knuckles were playable on the Genesis, but it was still just run fast and get to the end with some different movement gimmicks. Here you have a lot less running for the non-hedgehogs and more exploring, shooting, and, for some reason, fishing. If you liked any of the newer 3D games and you've never tried the original, grab it on sale and play through some of the characters. Yeah, you can skip Big the Cat, but the Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and even Amy and Gamma parts are worth a play through in my opinion. Just remember that the graphics and camera are old and may not quite be what you are used to, but with that caveat in mind I think any Sonic fan should give this and it's sequel a chance.

This game is the same as when I played in on the gamecude years ago. The game itself if buggy, but it was before hand. And that is part of the charm. If you don't have a system to play on, namely and old gamecube, you can't go wrong with this one.

Still a Great game even if the graphics and controls kinda didn't age well there is stuff for that. Big the cat was the worse but besides that I highly recommend this game.

Worth playing at least once. But only if modded

I think most can agree that while Sonic Adventure was a great game for the time it came out it has NOT aged well. Especially the DX remake and ports which strip away some great elements from the original Dreamcast version and often introduce new glitches. However, with this PC version, you can use an overhaul mod to fix most of the glitches, and restore the Dreamcast elements. Allowing to play the game as it was originally, but in HD. Still not Fantastic, still hasn't aged well. But with the Dreamcast conversation mod implemented it is still an enjoyable experience for the most part. Skip the Amy and Big campaigns though. Those were always terrible. And the final boss beating all the campaigns unlocks is not worth the pain.
