In Stranger of Sword City, perfect your DRPG skills and navigate your way through a land of fantasy races, fierce monsters, and treacherous labyrinths. Explore labyrinths to slay the powerful Lineage Type monsters within and take their Blood Crystals to increase your power. Who you decide to trust, be it the Kingdom, Medell Co., or the Strangers Guild, is entirely up to you. But choose wisely. Your fate depends on it.

So far it has proven to be a competent tile based dungeon crawler with RPG battles , there are strange art style variants for the characters which can be a little jarring when compared with the beautiful monster arts.

It's a great game if you enjoy dungeon crawlers. Expect some tough fights as the enemies are varied and the levels that they will have when you encounter them varies and running is always an option.
I'm not too far into the game but the story is nonsensical enough that they give you a reason to enter some dungeons and it seems that you can pick which of three factions to support and get power ups for your party, I'm hoping that this means that the game story has different endings or branches, but so far it's a real blast.

Perhaps what keeps people coming back to Stranger of Sword City is the cool art style that is featured. Or maybe it's the challenging, but rewarding, dungeons that are so addictive. Whatever it is that has made it such a cult classic with JRPG fans, the game overall is brilliant.
