Stunning visual style and beautiful animation create a nostalgic scrolling beat em up experience for modern gamers. It draws from the original trilogy but stands alone as the most epic fun thumb bashing scroller out there. A must play!

A worthy new entry of the famous Sega Genesis' sidescroller beat'em up franchise. It's Streets of Rage through and through, but better, a must have for all the fans.

A delight that maintains all of the glory and greatness from the original trilogy, updated for a modern style by picking the elements of what made the classics great to play in the first place and balencing them out so nothing feels broke, or is too watered down. The roaster of characters are just as fun to play as each bringing their uniqueness to the table, and if you still want the originals, they are there for the taking too. Music is still a certified Techno/R&B/House inspired production, as Yuzo Koshiro returns along with other budding artists to return back to the flavours of the 90s and tastes of the new millenium. Bottom line is if you are crazy for side-scrolling beat-em-ups just like the old arcade coin munchers (but you don't have to keep dropping money in all the time) this is for you. If that was not the case, this game is still for you. Try it, like it, and then learn to love it.

Great like the originals only better

I enjoy this better than Streets of Rage 2. It stays true to the feel of the originals while adding modern gaming innovations improving what was already great rather than tainting it. The expansion makes it better for anyone who likes roguelike.

A good throwback to a great classic series

Quite a fun game providing some nostalgia towards the original Streets of rage series. Reasonable amount of characters to choose from, would have liked a more extensive combo system though.

Good looking fighting game but with some frustrating gameplay design.

It's a good fighting game but there needs to be more differences between characters' fighting styles and more interesting combos. The art style is awesome and tough! The pick-up and throw button shouldn't be the same button. The amount of times I threw a weapon when trying to pick up food or loot was a bit frustrating. Also locking awesome characters that you meet in the storyline, behind DLC, is a bit crappy. I got this on special. It's worth it if it's discounted.
