A top-down shooting game where Madame Curie, Tesla, Lovecraft, etc. come out and shoot the octopus head of Cthulhu.
Each character has characteristics such as high stamina and fast loading, and you can upgrade weapons and perks by collecting crystals.
There is a blinking function, so you can play coolly once you get the hang of it, and you don't have to use a lot of brain power.
In addition, you can summon mecha by collecting mecha parts, and weapon power-up items drop in the middle.
This game feature is that you have to collect upgrade items while dying in the beginning.
If you can't pick up a good weapon in the first game, you can't collect items and end up suffering only in pain.
Luck = skill, so let's improve our skills

Beautiful Gauntet-esque game with no annoying near death Valkyries. Mission based game with mini "dungeons" full of Lovecraftian baddies to blast. No real grey matter exercise but enjoyable shooter nonetheless. This would be a 5 star game for me but oddly it kept squirreling out with my XBox controller and my little dude would stop shooting and just run in a straight line. I would have to use the ESC key to get a menu, opt for "save and exit" and then reload to get my controls back. Not absolutely horrible on starter levels but impossible to recover from on higher "swarm" levels.

This is a worthy successor to Tesla vs Lovecraft. The gameplay is very similar but there are added elements like randomization of levels and a less linear feel. There are more weapons and perks. I'm not fond of all of them, but the variety is nice and lends itself to a wide spread of game play styles. I had about 25 hours of playtime in TvL, but I feel like I'll get a little more out of this with the new additions and four playable characters.
