AN INVENTFUL ADVENTURE

You are Nikola, a world-famous inventor and genius extraordinaire. On the eve of your greatest invention, your laboratory is burned down by the horror author H.P. Hard can be fun sometimes! 😎

I like this fast-paced dystopian, survival shooter. The game Is level based and even if is a short one, you can play it 3 times, every time being even harder than the first time, but challenging and rewarding. I've finished the game twice, but i want more... Why? 🤔 Lots of guns, perks and even more enemies will enjoy and frighten your eyes in the same time! 😏😁 Tesla vs Lovecraft is the final showdown between the unique, one of the greatest scientists of all times and his inventions vs the horrifying creatures from Lovecraft's books. Beware! It's not easy, but can be fun! 😎

For starters, Tesla vs Lovecraft is a fast paced top down arena shooter where Tesla fights Eldritch horrors. The highlight of the game is shooting down hordes of monsters that feels satisfying. The main focus is on kiting the enemies with the teleport skill. Power ups drop around the map as well as weapons that drop with better quality when you are a higher level. On top of that there are 6 mech parts to repeatedly collect that give access to a time limited invulnerable mech to bring down more destruction. Making killing sprees rewards you with even more power ups and perks. Killing the enemies gives XP and leveling up gives a choice between two perks. The perks ramp up the gameplay to a crazy degree, shooting multiple projectiles that ricochet off walls and penetrate through enemies, giving the teleport skill infinite uses and no cooldown. Beside the in level leveling up, there are rogue-like elements with permanent progression, so that even losing runs result in some feeling of progress. Reaching a specific number of killed monsters gives 10% more damage against that monster type. The other permanent progression is aether crystals that can be gained from completing levels, found inside levels and from daily missions. Aether crystal upgrades are quite powerful, giving extra teleport uses or perks when starting a new level, but also very grindy. The game has 31 levels with 3 bosses, once those levels are completed, you can complete the same levels again on a harder difficulty for tougher enemies and more rewards with a total of 3 difficulty levels. On the easy difficulty it's easy to feel overpowered and rarely die, but on the hardest difficulty split second decisions are important to decide how you want to kite the enemies, where do you want to teleport, to focus on a certain power up, weapon drop or collect the mech parts to get temporary safety and some perks from killing enemies. Due to the random nature of perks from level ups, it's possible to have a better run that can pass the level while playing worse. About the story... there is only a very simple cinematic and a few one liners are exchanged along the lines of "You can't handle the power, stop!" and "No, science must progress!" that only serve to set up how silly a fight between Lovecraft and Tesla is. But the game offers plenty of shooting fun. For completionists: Finish all the levels on all 3 difficulties. To improve your gaming experience try choosing an epic perk from level up and...

It`s a nice twin stick shooter, nothing special really, but ok game for short fun. Game is ok, but can be very repetitive after a while, for few hours or one day fun sure, but for longer period can become boring. Shooting big groups of enemies, adding powerups, changing maps and that`s about it. Visuals are nice, but nothing special really, maps are small but open, sound is more-less ok. Funny how this game got nothing to do with Nikola Tesla or Lovecraft theme but maybe developers thought sound name would sell better... Tesla vs Lovecraft is a part of horror triple pack bundle, that`s how I got it, for price of 90 cent (if you buy 3 games from the bundle), sure this game offers lot of fun.
