About The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

About this game

Embark on an Ace Attorney journey unlike ever before, as you play through The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and experience the story from a brand-new perspective.

It runs in the family

Go back to the 19th century and take control of Ryunosuke Naruhodo, a rookie newcomer that pursues a job in justice to protect those that have been wrongfully put on trial, much like he was years ago — he's also an ancestor of the iconic protagonist Phoenix Wright.

A cold case

Tackle a case that has gone hopelessly cold, and hope to solve an international criminal conspiracy. It's quite a big case, will you be able to solve it? While you're at it, take the opportunity and tackle numerous tricky trials along the way!

Investigate

Go to the crime scene and investigate it in order to build your case. Engage in point-and-click gameplay as you search for clues or evidence that you can use to protect your client at all costs. Once you've found evidence, closely inspect it in order to find even more clues to assist your client. Once you've gathered enough, speak to Herlock Sholmes in order to further understand how it all links together.

Trial

As the trial progresses, use the information you've gathered from searching the crime scene and talking to suspects to present evidence to those that stand before you. And, when inconsistencies present themselves on your opponent's findings...

OBJECTION!

It wouldn't be an Ace Attorney game if you couldn't object to evidence! Object to inconsistencies, use evidence to further advance your trial, and solve the case that had gone cold years prior. You are the ancestor of the iconic Pheonix Wright; time to create a legacy he'll have to live up to.

Story Mode

Explore the Story Mode, a brand-new feature exclusive to The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, as the game auto-selects evidence, choices, and everything you’ll need to ensure your victory in court. Sit back and watch the story unfold!

Bonuses & Extra Features

Play the game with dual audio, including both English and Japanese; experience eight slice-of-life escapades; select between three special costumes for Ryunosuke Naruhodo, Susato Mikotoba, and Herlock Sholmes; interact with the art and music galleries, which also include creator comments to learn more about the game; and watch fifteen bonus videos! A unique experience for long-time fans of the game.

A great game!

Game is good! is a visual novel style game, very good writing memorable characters and a lot of twist and turns to keep you entertained, it gets a little slow at times with all the exposition, but is a visual novel after all, also it can be a little frustrating when you already know the answer to a puzzle or mystery but the game hasn't got there but those are the only minor problems that I had everything else is amazing!

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is not only a return to form for the series, it is in my opinion the best game(s) in the franchise! A story so carefully planned throughout 10 cases, each being of great importance to the plot, and with a such a charming colourful cast of characters, it is truly a marvel to play though it. The investigation parts of the game has never been paced as well as here, also adding a new very fun minigame in the great Herlock Sholmes's Logic and Reasoning Spectacular absolutely stealing the show! The same goes for the court proceedings, now featuring a jury and multiple witnesses at once presenting their testimonies, making the game feel truly unique. The witnesses themselves have never been less annoying as well, in fact the whole cast of characters from more to less important ones have never been funnier and more charming. I applaud the phenomenal character and story writing that manages to beat the best entries in the Phoenix Wright's timeline, just as well as the new mechanics that reinvent the game a bit and make it feel fresh again!

If you count the two games as one package (which I do) this is the best AA game hands down. Most well rounded cases as a whole and a great cast of characters.

A fine selection with an "OBJECTION!"

Staff Review
A 19th-century court sets the scene in this adventure double-pack prequel to the modern-day classic Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. Taking on the role of rookie lawyer Ryunosuke, you'll attempt to solve international criminal conspiracies through tricky trials in the courtroom. If you're not the sharpest lawyer or investigator and need a hand, the game has a cool assistance feature which will help unravel some clues if you get stuck. And, yes, even in 19th Century Japan, you'll still get to cry "OBJECTION!"

Great game as usual. I'm a big fan of the original Phoenix Wright trilogy and this one didn't disappoint. The art is great. The story is great. No objections on this game :)

I thought the best masterpieces in the series were 1, 2, and 3, and the games released later were not very interesting. However, the game was able to enjoy the first and second episodes at once, and as the story continues, you can feel catharsis at the end of the second episode. I highly recommend buying games

Another great game in the series, maybe even the best yet

I have played every Ace Attorney game before this one and as a fan I have to say this one may be the best one so far. Engaging characters right from the start, difficulty is on point and the logic seems les ridiculous in comparison to previous games while still being fun. I'm incredibly happy and content with how much fun this game is.

good game but texts are too long and sometimes meaningless

this game is basically good. characters and stories are quite good and more importantly it is easy to play. there are nothing makes you exhauated in this game. all you have to do is making simple decisions between 2~4 choices suggested by game characters often by clicking mouse. however too long and meaningless text can possibly make users leave for other games. some texts are full of japanese-style humours that many users cant understand. moreover it is really bad seeing that main detectives' laughing scenes pop out some 20times just 1 episode followed by no-meaning reactions from Naruhodo like "i dont think its funny" "Englishmen laugh in this situations".
