About The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante

About this game

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is a narrative-driven RPG that comes to life on the pages of the protagonist's journal. Set in a ruthless world where any form of dissent is mercilessly crushed, the story follows a man who has dared to challenge the existing order. Set out on a lifelong journey and become an individual able to carve out their own destiny... But remember that freedom never comes cheap

Life in the Great Arknian Empire is harsh and its hardest Lot is yours by the circumstance of birth. You are a commoner, holding no rights and no title. To seize your fate and become the rightful heir to the legacy of the Brante family you will have to come to grips with ossified tradition and prejudice. Embarking on a life-long journey from one's birth until true death, you will have to endure great upheavals, face adversity, and make many difficult choices. Every decision will affect not only the protagonist, his family, and loved ones, but may even topple the foundation of the Empire itself.

Key features

At the turn of time

Every imperial citizen's life is predetermined by their estate. The deities known as the Twin Gods have bestowed this truth to the world, dividing mortals into Lots. The nobles lead and rule over others, while the clergy guides people on the one true path, and the lowborn suffer, toiling away for the glory of the Empire. You may accept your fate without question, but it is also in your power to change the cosmic order that governs all.

Your choice is not an illusion

Divided into chapters, the game keeps track of the player's deeds, the skills they acquired, as well as other overlapping circumstances that shape a unique plotline for each playthrough. Every decision has its consequences and you will be held accountable throughout the entire journey. To protect your family and loved ones, to impose the rule of the Emperor and make a fortune, or to try and change the world as you see fit... Make your choice, but beware of the follies of pride and ambition.

Fight for your life

One man is anything but omnipotent in this realm yet under your guidance, Sir Brante may become a person who can endure every trial fate throws at him and rewrite the very laws that govern his world! Develop and train your character, leveling up such traits as determination, sensitivity, and endurance. All of the hero's skills, starting with those acquired in infancy, will affect his personality, worldview, and relationships, ultimately unlocking new talents and possible storylines.

Find your own path

The first complete walkthrough can take you upwards of 15 hours! Numerous branching paths that affect the unfolding story will make every playthrough a unique experience: become a noble judge, learn the ways of the inquisition, plot a revolution as a member of a secret society, or embrace an entirely different purpose. Be brave and fate itself shall bend to your will!

There and hereafter

The resurrection system allows the character to keep his experience upon death, letting the player reevaluate past steps and make adjustments to their strategy going forward. Take control not only of your life but also of your demise, then put everything at stake in this cycle of death and rebirth!

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante Overall Impression (tl;dr) - The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is a one of a kind interactive RPG that lets you play as a person who can become anybody - and with very dire consequences to all those around. You can play it multiple times and still come to different conclusions, take other paths and discover new ways to solve problems. Developers are really quick in terms of bugfixing, providing us players with flawless experience. The long journey of Brante through life might be successful or not, but it surely will leave its mark on you. It's an amazing title that deserves your attention. Final rating - ★★★★★ Experience (gameplay/lore) - Life of Sir Brante is divided into parts; from his earliest childhood to the most unfortunate events of his adulthood. Throughout his life journey, the player makes decisions for the main hero that influence his skillset, relations with his relatives and other NPCs as well as have effect on religious/political situation within the country. It is a story of growth or tragedy, during which much can be gained and - likewise, much can be lost. It isn't by far an easy game if you're set on reaching a specific goal. It takes logical thinking, planning and at times helping yourself with provided choice descriptions - these can be turned on or off depending on what type of gameplay you prefer. There are numerous resources that Brante might make use of later in life, most notably: his family standing and wealth, but also the ratio of his successes at work; over-zealotry in that manner doesn't always make friends. Finally, passing through stages of life is riddled with opportunities to… die. But death isn't the end in the world of The Blessed Arknian Empire and if you are to play The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, you will learn about it first-hand. The monumental events the game ends with are well-planner: and I have found multiple endings really satisfying. It's truly about what you lead your character to be, what choices you make and what kind of person you made him. You can save multiple people - or leave them to their demise. Lore-wise, world-building in the Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is simply something else. While at first are simple - seen by eyes of a toddler - as the main character grows up, the scale of lore built by Sever studio reveals itself. And it is a well-constructed fantasy universe; dark and grim, realistic, with a stern religious system in place and a...

This game is amazing, if you enjoy games with little to no actual gameplay. Within The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, you follow the life (and suffering) of your protagonist, Sir Brante from birth to adulthood by way of text, guiding him through choices and tough dilemmas by way of choosing options much like a choose your own adventure novel, in which every action you take defines Sir Brante as as character and shapes his life. While playing, I was sucked into the deep and thought provoking story which explores themes of class struggle and inequity, so much so that I kept coming back to the game over and over again and thinking about it even when I wasn’t playing it. However, this game isn’t for everyone. It takes a certain type of person to enjoy what boils down to reading a light novel and occasionally clicking some buttons which lead to different outcomes, and I am certainly one of those people. I think the story of this game is amazing and is really worth your while, but if you are more interested in engaging gameplay elements this game may not be for you.

Lot's of choices. Moments of tragedy and triumph. Honour, disgrace, happiness. All achievable but at a cost. The game makes you really feel the impact of each choice you make and never holds you're hand by making the morals black and white, right and wrong. Instead it makes you question what the "good" path is and if one even exists in the cruel world of Sir Brante. Honestly its a breath of fresh air compared to the cookie cutter morality system most games force one into.

"The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante" has taken me on an incredible adventure that has left a profound impact on my gaming experience. Although I've only reached halfway into adolescence, I can confidently say that this game has already become one of my all-time favorites. Right from the start, I was blown away by the beautifully crafted world in which Sir Brante's story unfolds. The attention to detail and captivating visuals drew me into this mysterious and somber universe, making me feel like I was truly part of the narrative. The interactive gameplay mechanics made me an active participant in Sir Brante's life. I had the power to shape his destiny through my decisions, and each choice I made had significant consequences. It was both thrilling and nerve-wracking to see how my actions impacted his personality, relationships, and future. This level of immersion made the storytelling all the more compelling and meaningful. The narrative itself is a masterwork of storytelling, exploring themes of sacrifice, duty, and survival. As I navigated through Sir Brante's adolescence, I found myself emotionally invested in his struggles, joys, and moral dilemmas. The unexpected twists and surprises kept me on the edge of my seat, always eager to uncover what lay ahead. The characters I encountered throughout the game were well-developed and felt like real individuals with their own unique traits and motivations. Interacting with them was a crucial aspect of Sir Brante's life, and I cherished the moments of bonding and understanding with each one. I was also impressed by the historical and cultural accuracy present in the game. It's clear that the developers put in considerable effort to create a believable world, which added depth and credibility to the narrative, making it even more immersive and enjoyable. In conclusion, "The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante" has been an unforgettable journey for me. The engaging storytelling, stunning visuals, and thought-provoking decision-making mechanics have set this game apart from others I've played. I'm eagerly looking forward to continuing Sir Brante's life, as I know there are many more emotional moments and impactful choices awaiting me. If you're a fan of narrative-driven games that allow you to influence the course of the story, I can't recommend this game enough. It's an experience that will stay with me long after I've finished the game.
