About The Outer Worlds

About this game

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division.

Taking part in an alternate universe in the year 2355 in the Halcyon System, take control of The Stranger (otherwise known as "the unknown variable") as you board a colony ship called Hope on an expedition to Halcyon. After something goes awry, 60 years pass instead of the expected 10. Take control of The Stranger in Obsidian Entertainment's — the minds behind Fallout: New Vegas — newest award-winning first-person title!

Your Choices Affect the Story

Approach the corporate-driven Halcyon System your way and affect the way the story unfolds. Your choices will affect numerous aspects of your time in The Outer Worlds, including which characters join you and the story development, but your companions, end-game scenarios, and even character build!

Perfectly Flawed

Take control of The Stranger, a character that starts off fine in nature but slowly grows flawed as The Outer World tracks your experiences... and what you aren't good at doing. Get a flaw from an assortment of 14 according to your playstyle — such as Plasma Weakness, Herpetophobia, Paranoid, Robophobia, and more — but also get a perk point to help you progress your build. This is an entirely optional system, however, so you can reject all forms of phobias that you'll unlock.

Assemble a Crew

Meet several characters as you explore the Halcyon System, each with their own personalities, abilities, and even missions! Embark on quests to see their motivations come to a completion and help them achieve their goals!

Embark on a Journey Across Halcyon

Explore numerous key areas in Halcyon, the colony at the edge of the galaxy owned by the Halcyon Holdings Corporate Board. Find your ship, assemble a crew, and go on an adventure across numerous settlements, space stations, and numerous other locations scattered throughout this massive world!

Good RPG/FPS hybrid

If you like older RPG games like NeverWinter Nights, then this is your game. Reminded me of a lot of tabletop sessions. Big, funny and weird sci-fi world, amazing music and beautiful graphics. I would recommend it!

Fallout New Vegas In Space

While it's got a different flavour to Fallout New Vegas, this game does shine in a similar way. Great humour, fun core gameplay, and a story good enough to keep you sucked in. It's smaller and more limiting that Vegas, but still a great game in its own right.

I first purchased this game for Ps4 when it came out. I forgot about it for a bit and decided to pick it back up for PC. It's a fun, comical, action packed game. Honestly, if you like Fallout, Metro, and Borderlands, I would give this a shot. Hell of a time killer.

Solid RPG story with the usual grinding for levels. Story is a little short and replayability is low. Still enjoyed playthrough and killing everyone and everything.

This game is what I was actually waiting for for a long time. It has the details, universe and humor of the best Fallout and KotOR games. My only critic that once you beat the story, that's it. Despite of the multiple planets the maps are limited, not open, you may feel like you're heading from a start point to a finish point, with more stronger weapons and more dangerous enemies on a linear way. My character is a level 30 badass but no-one to fight with anymore. And I don't feel to start again the whole thing.

Outer Worlds has superb writing but misses it's mark on what could have been a fantastic RPG

The Outer Worlds offer the superb level of writing, characters and quests that come to be expected from Obsidian, but ultimately it still misses it's mark on a lots spot with mind numbing boring world exploration with so many invisible barrier and the game essentially designed around this hub based open world concept. The gunplay and melee is also subpar at best, a very shallow system exist for the sole purpose of having a gameplay rather than just talk to people. But overall it's still an insanely fun experience and it's hard to not get excited for the sequel given how much room for the improve upon this IP, especially under the umbrella of Xbox.

Very interesting game, and the story of this game is nice but a kind of short. If you like to play a game that doesn't had a perfect choice then this game is the best.

Loved the game, but also can't help but say I was a little disappointed, so here's pros & cons: PROS: - nice mood, lovely colors, interesting characters, cool universe; CONS: - too short, overall looks lazily designed, not a lot of effort put into details, location, made my "check-every-corner" intinct go numb because there wasn't much to actually really be surprised by; - did not like how it's never explained why I finish the game and I still haven't accessed all planets; I have to assume myself that those are reserved for DLCs but it's just disappointing.
