Weak action adventure with great story, characters and music

Matej
The game consists of 5 episodes, and we can import the decisions we made in the previous title. I am not sure how effective that is compared to generic Clementine. We play as Javi and we get to know our older brother David who is harsh on Javi all the time. The story shows the world at the very start of the zombie apocalypse, everyone accommodating to the new ways of life. That means even if you are not into Clementine from the first two games, you still get to play it from the start. The game has a beautiful story with some surprising moments and twists. Even the ending made me cry. It was a complicated story with some hard decisions and many times I found myself saying one thing to those who will remember but did have to decide otherwise not completely turning against them but making things right. Things actually can work out but half of the people here died and there is also a little backstory for Clementine who still has one of the best dialogues. But I also really liked the drama with the brother, taking care of the family and dealing with situations where there is not a single good answer. Silence is often a viable answer. Thus said, it is heavy on dialogues and feels like watching a movie, still the game keeps us interacting with it whether it is choosing the answer and how the story goes or fighting the zombies which is in my opinion just not so fun. When exploring the areas with WASD, our moves are pretty clunky in a somewhat panoramic view. It was an issue in a previous title as well, but it just shows this game is more an action adventure with a strong story. Comparing this to the first game in the series, it sits nicely next to it for me when it comes to the quality of the story. The characters here are really interesting, there are not many of them, but they made sure they are not shallow and predictable. Some of them were mysterious, some of them had their own plans, we just happened to be caught in the middle. I am not really hype on these graphics but the developers did a really good job in showing emotions and made good animations, sometimes the game can actually look beautiful. And the music just feels right with everything going on.

A game at least everyone should try it. Your choices and decisions when playing the game will show you who you will be. At the end of the game, you will discover something new about yourself, but as a game, it is good in terms of events, interconnections, shocks, and a narrated story.

It's worse than The Walking Dead season 1. But it's still a good game. Anyway, you have to play all the walking dead to know the whole story, so I recommend you to play it after playing season 1 and 2.

Not great. Each new entry in this series kept getting worse and A New Frontier is no exception. You're missing nothing except bland dialogue, meaningless choices, and annoying characters. Just skip it and replay the first two again.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is the third season of Telltale's The Walking Dead series, where you plays as Javier, who was a successful baseball player, but his career has ended after a betting incident and his brother doesn't like him, because of that. We will know more of his background story with his brother, parents, brother's wife and kids more and also surviving outside in the TWD universe. Graphically this game got better after Michonne. Michonne was good looking, but this was is a whole new level. Character faces better than ever, effects and gore detailed and looks good. For me, sometimes the character faces were looked more polished, like those made from plastic, but to be honest, that was just 3-4 incident in the game. It's really good, and actually not that buggy. Only one time I found a buggy spot, where I noticed the world is not loaded under a gate and there was void, but nothing too bad. Time to talk about the story. I was not convinced at first, but to be honest, this was one of the best story from all of Telltale's TWD games in my opinion. The major character from the previous seasons is here too, and also the main story is exciting. It has twists, some of them not that difficult to see, but there were some surprises for sure! Dialogues are not that silly here, characters are more all right. One of the most annoying character was Gabe at the beginning, but later, he was also quite likable. The story also getting more darker from Michonne, which I liked it so much. Music and sounds are really got better. Not boring like it was in previous games, new sounds definitely made it better. About the songs, I really didn't heard them, so I would say they were all right, however not that iconic like it was Michonne. Gameplay is same was in Michonne, which means the QTEs, fluid camera movements all around the place, but less exploration gameplay, like collecting items and finding out what is going on. I think in episodes there are 1 this kind of part, where you can go around in a territory, but later, there will be none. I missed these, but it was okay.
