I honestly don't even understand the structure of this game?!
You find a lost dog, want to bring them to the local shelter but it is full. So you set up a little shelter at your home, find the owner, give back the dog and are then asked to help out at the local shelter. You are given a tour of a place and a wall of text that tries to instruct you on your tasks. This whole intro part takes 20 MINUTES!!!! and is 95% cutscenes.
You then do this for a day or two, before you are randomly given your own shelter where you are given another tour of the almost identical shelter before you are left to your own devices again. This is where i ended up after 1 1/2 hours. i am all for starting off slow but having 2 tutorials pretty much, switching between 3 LOCATIONS????? WHY????
I have not encountered any gamebreaking bugs so far but i had a water bucket i was not allowed to put down, constant visitors when i didn't have enough dogs to make them excited enough for adopting one (because when they come over to adopt a specific kind of dog you still have to show them x other dogs for them to actually want one, for some reason). What bugs me the most is that you get notifications for everything (new visitor, dog hungry, filthy, thirsty etc) but not for when a new dog is left in the waiting area. This is really frustrating as i've had a neglect complain before i was able to figure out which dog was supposedly neglected (one in the waiting area, surprise, surprise!).
Sadly, the game is different from what i had expected. A lot of time is spent on caring for the dogs because you walk increadibly slow and can only hold two things or two dogs. The adoption process is plain boring (i want a large/small/ exotic dog) or full on stupid ( i lost my dog, he is small and good with kids - yeah, you've already forgotten what he looked like he?). Sometimes there will even be people at the shelter looking for dogs that you don't have so you have to pick random dogs to show them.
You are not building your own shelter either, you can add small stuff but that's it. You are caring for the animals in the most repetitive kind of way and there is no real goal to work towards to. Everything is slow and grindy, you cannot even interact with the dogs to pet them, not even YOUR OWN DOG. Not a fan.
