I wanted to like this game. Seriously. I gave it two chances. But no matter what, I just can't like it like I wanted to do. First of all: the Ghost Experience mode is well made and feels good. The story is not that bad, too. I have seen better and worse. If you have played Deus Ex, you can clearly see, that parts the plot/theme might be inspired by that. Not a bad thing. Now on the other hand there are some flaws that make this game unenjoyable for me. The dialogue before a mission is often quite long. In principle, I have no problem with longer dialogues, but since this game lives primarily from its gameplay and not from a deep and loreful story, they are very annoying. It's not uncommon to get three minutes of dialogue, then fly two minutes by helicopter to a point on the map, have a few minutes of dialogue there again and then defeat a few enemies. Then, of course, there is a final dialogue and you are allowed to go on to the next mission. Maybe this gets better in later missions, but I didn't even get to that, because the above-mentioned missions made me lose interest in the game. Then we also have problems within the dialogues. Some passages seem to have been recorded with only one voice, which leads to a character suddenly having a much deeper voice in the middle of a conversation. Also, the voices of some characters sound as if they were recorded quickly in a bathroom or a phone box with a mobile phone. Also, this game has TOO MUCH content. The fact that Ubisoft games are packed with all kinds of collectibles is nothing new and I can usually ignore them. Here, however, they have really stepped it up a notch. Similar to Ghost Recon Wildlands, everything (weapons, attachments, etc.) has to be collected here. With over 100 weapons and their attachments, as well as other collectibles such as notes and evidence, this combined with the huge map is far too much. In Wildlands I also needed some time to collect everything, or at least almost everything, but here we have the masses, which demotivate me by their sheer number.

Great game after the update, in some aspect better than wildlands but falters in some aspects. But its great now ... Fanatical is a great platform to buy games.

As a whole, not a bad game, but also, not a great game either. I gave it four stars because the graphics are incredible on a decent system. The flow of the story missions are a little confusing as already been stated in other users' reviews. Also, the diversity in the melee attacks you can use on an opposing force is limited to deballing and throat slash. Not sure if this is a skills related issue or the AI is limited. Without question, playing the game is worth it.

The Ubisoft fomula to the extreme
Like the other reviews say, this is a classic ubisoft collect-a-thon. This isn't usually as big of a problem if you like the ubisoft collectable and exploration formula, but in this case it is thrown at you all at once. You wanna do the third part of the story before even completing the first chapter? Sure the mission start points are right next to each other. You wanna start mutiple missions from the same character all at once that relate to different parts of the story? Well, you can do that as well. This easily leads to the story being confusing because you'll pick up 10 missions, go through them one by one with no dialogue so you don't remember why you're attacking a base, saving scientists or blowing up a supply line. Then when you return with the missions done there's 10 minutes of cutscene all mashed together that don't make any sense because they are out of order and ruin the pacing of the story. It's not all bad; the environment looks amazing with the expansive forests and scenic views, and it feels immersive when playing on higher difficulties, stalking your way into a base or going in guns blazing is when this game is the most fun. The gameplay is what saves this from the monotomy of its story. If you can get it cheap enough, it is worth it for the environment. Just dont expect much variety out of the story missions.

Better to play this before Wildlands, but still a good game.

Personally, I am really enjoying this game so far. I know it's gotten a lot of negativity before the "Motherland" update, but I am enjoying it even without that. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I played Wildlands before I played this one, and so I keep comparing it to Wildlands, which is a better game in my opinion, even though this game was released before Wildlands, I think. Although this game is slow to start, it quickly picks up after the first couple of missions.
