About Townscaper

About this game

Build quaint island towns with curvy streets, small hamlets, soaring cathedrals, canal networks, or sky cities on stilts. Build the town your dreams, block by block.

No goal. No real gameplay. Just plenty of building and plenty of beauty. That's it.

Townscaper is an experimental passion project. More of a toy than a game. Pick colors from the palette, plop down colored blocks of houses on the irregular grid, and watch Townscaper's underlying algorithm automatically turn those blocks into cute little houses, arches, stairways, bridges, and lush backyards, depending on their configuration.

This builder is not short on features and it has a relaxing tone to it that is needed in this world.

Seeing as how I haven't been able to play this on any of my devices, I thought I would try it on my laptop, and to great results. The game is very relaxing, there are no objectives, and it has some other perks. The other perks are Screenshot management (selecting screenshot folder, easy one click button) Exporting option for further tinkering in OBJ format Multiple themes and shadow manipulation Small footprint ( less than 500 MB needed to run) I have only begun to scratch the surface of this zen-like builder, but I am super excited to finally have this game. I recommend it for anyone looking to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of daily life.
