THE ERAS
Players can start their reign during colonial times. You can try to survive the World Wars and the Great Depression while being a dictator during the Cold War, and try to advance your country to modern times and beyond. Can you reach the 21st century by navigating all the challenges that come with development?

THE DYNASTY
With every member of El Presidente’s extended family is present on the island, any of them may be appointed as a ruler, a manager, an ambassador or a general. You can unlock new traits by investing in the members of your dynasty, and even turn them into your most valuable assets.

RESEARCH AND RENOVATE
Players can advance their nations by discovering new buildings, technologies and resources. In order to progress, you need to renovate your old buildings and turn them into more efficient and modern structures. Advance with trade by amassing a global trade fleet and use your ships to create and secure your trade routes with world superpowers for both importing and exporting abilities.

EXPLORE YOUR ISLAND

Tropico is a well-known simulated business game. After inheriting many advantages of the previous game, Tropico 5 also adds its own characteristics. Tropico is different from other simulated business games. Each game resident is no longer presented in the form of data. In the game, you can check all identity information of each resident, including name, family, address and so on. Because of this, the goal of operation is no longer just high-yield. It is equally important to improve the satisfaction of different residents and prevent resistance. Low satisfaction will directly lead to the failure of the game.

Not much has changed in the core gameplay or presentation versus Tropico 3 & 4 but the different eras do add some of variety, even if the implementation isn't perfect.

Staff Review
The Complete Collection contains all of the DLC for Tropico 5. If ever there was a good time to realize your dream of being the dictator of a Caribbean island, it's now. Oppress your citizens like never before with either a communist motherland or a fascist state, or something in between. The list of UN conventions and laws to ignore are endless.
