About VirtuaVerse

About this game

In a future not too far away, one Artificial Intelligence has prevailed over all other AIs and their governments. Society has migrated to a permanently integrated reality connected to a single neural network that continuously optimizes people's experiences by processing personal data.

Nathan, an outsider still refusing to comply with the new system, makes a living off the grid as a smuggler of modded hardware and cracked software. Geared with his custom headset, he is among the few that can still switch AVR off and see reality for what truly is.

He shares an apartment in the city with his girlfriend Jay, a talented AVR graffiti writer whose drones have been bit-spraying techno-color all over the augmented space in the city.

Waking up one morning, Nathan discovers that Jay disappeared overnight, but not before leaving a cryptic message on their bathroom mirror.

Having accidentally broken his custom headset, Nathan is now disconnected and determined to find out what happened to Jay, but he soon finds himself tangled up in an unexpected journey involving Jay's hacker group and a guild of AVR technomancers.

Traveling around the world, he'll have to deal with hardware graveyards, digital archeology, tribes of cryptoshamans, and virtual reality debauchery.

A point and click adventure game with cyberpunk setting, stylish pixel graphics (the good kind) and fitting music. Entertaining story and good puzzles with a pinch of humour. Although there is no voice acting, that's about the only negative thing about it.

I like its pixel-cyberpunk aesthetics, but it's pretty bad as an adventure game. The puzzles are ridiculously obtuse, I had to use a guide to get through it. The writing can be amusing from time to time, but I found characters and setting to be boring and lacking in personality. I got frustrated very early on, I just kept going because of my completionist mindset. I appreciate the effort by the small dev team, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I loved it tbh, with its vast story telling and its beautiful detailed world really immersed me into the universe itself. So much to love

Great aesthetic and music. It's entertaining and the puzzles are definitely not easy by any means.

Play this Game. VR from a Metal Label's standpoint is a rare thing, and it's done well, with a grit.

A refreshing counterpoint to Cyberpunk 2077, VirtuaVerse promises an epic ride and delivers a graduating chapter style episodic experience. With the gloomy backdrop of a family friendly Blade Runner, she surpasses the expectations that popularized the genre in the 80s, in the same way that tech has in the real world. The expectation of acid rain went down under FEMA and Nesh was replaced by the regulation of marijuana and the advancements of pharmacueticals, leaving a lot of potential for screen interfacing and AR, rather than the full plunge into VR. Published by Blood Music, it relies heavily on the immersive feel that storytelling brings to the table. Man vs Woman and the hero's journey, taking us through the city- an experience that the middle class not only doesn't experience, she also doesn't understand.
