About Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

About this game

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game set in the grimdark universe of the 41st Millennium. Pick your force, develop your army, field mighty heroes and fight for victory using superior strategy, awesome abilities, and devastating weaponry.

Age of Crimson Dawn

Experience an epic twenty mission single-player campaign that explores the aftermath of the Devasta-tion of Baal. Help Sergeant Carleon and his allies purge the Tyranid infestation on Baal Secundus, and preserve the honour of the noble Blood Angels.

Skirmish Mode

Fight across the surface of Baal on maps of your choosing in the Skirmish mode. Pick the faction you'll lead as well as the one you'll face. Completely customize your army list by selecting your units, heroes and their loadouts. It is available with three different types of Objective: Exterminatus, Conqueror and Strategic Command.

Planetary Supremacy Mode

Planetary Supremacy is a conquest-style skirmish campaign, introduced in a free update as part of our ever expanding plan for Battlesector, in which you, the player, decide the outcome.

Take command of your favourite faction and conquer the planet in a series of procedurally generated skirmish battles. To achieve victory, capture more tiles, acquire strategic resources and expand your army. Then, bring destruction to your enemies in Skirmish battles.

Daemonic Incursion

Daemonic Incursion is a single-player mode that is available to all Battlesector players as part of a free update that was launched alongside the Sisters of Battle Faction Pack. In Daemonic Incursion, waves of Khornate daemons enter realspace to spill blood, collect skulls and overrun your forces. This is a last-stand mode, in which your objective is simple: SURVIVE!

Forge Your Armies

Command iconic units like the Sanguinary Priest, the Librarian Dreadnought, and the Hive Tyrant to annihilate your foes. Use over 60 abilities and 50 weapons to orchestrate your opponent’s bloody de-mise.

Build Momentum

Each faction has a unique Momentum system that can result in a Surged unit. Units that Surge are able to string together superhuman chains of actions, or use the opportunity to further upgrade their abili-ties.

Call In Air Support

Use Command Points to call in faction-specific air support abilities. The Blood Angels Stormraven can obliterate xenos with a missile barrage, or deep strike a unit of veteran Assault Marines behind enemy lines. Meanwhile, the Tyranid Harpy can devastate the enemy defenses with its Sonic Screech, or scat-ter the battlefield with its deadly Spore Mines.

Face Your Friends On The Battlefield

With live and asynchronous multiplayer, and hotseat modes available, there’s no excuse not to take your friends to war.

"Aside from some doubts about the balance and the AI, and some Warhammer-specific quibbles, Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a great Blood Angels experience."

As a person with a visual disability I"ve had trouble finding a Warhammer 40k game that is accessible enough for me to play comfortably. This one has broken that trend. The unit models are distict enough from the landscape, and text is readable. Looking forward to diving in to the 40 universe.

A great 40k addition!

Battlesector is a very good game for the 40k universe, although it is very hard at times and the game does make the Tyranids BS. So expect to get frustrated playing it. And you WILL have to think as you play.

This was an odd by for me. I am more used to RTS or turn based tactics games where you control single characters instead of squads. However I don't regret my purchase. This game feels closer to the table top than any other warhammer game I've played, and that seems to be the point. While not a perfect 1 to 1, that's how it feels. It flows well, and in my experience so far I've not had any issues with performance. I'd say give this one a try, its a little different and might not be for everyone, but you won't know until you try. It also lets me play as tyranids, my favorite faction, so yeah that's awesome.

A fun, turn-based strategy game in the Warhammer 40k universe. Campaign is great fun, but replayability may be lacking for some, due to only 2 playable factions without DLC. DLC factions do not have own campaigns yet.

Great presentation but a little shallow after extensive play

A good interpretation of the 40k universe with some great models and lore friendly details. Game mechanics are a tad shallow however and the game can become repetitive after 20 or so hours. For a fan of the 40k setting it is pretty much a must buy though.

As a wh40k fan, I quite like this game. Decent turn based gameplay, really good lore bits, good graphics, amazing voice acting and overall a great experience and worth the money. The only downside to this game, and why I have to give it only 4 stars, is that the sound effects become quite repetitive, and a mild inconvenience in gameplay: when you finish the objectives and have to hunt down remaining enemies, they sometimes spawn on the other side of the map and you have to skip a couple of turns or actually move across the map to finish the mission, which can be quite time consuming and annoying. If you liked Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus, you'll probably like this one as well.

A great game where you can play as either the Space Marines (Blood Angels here) or the Tyranids. Both factions have a good variety of different units to choose from and several units have different weapons they can switch between. While the campaign is only for the Space Marines you can create skirmish matches for the Tyranids (don't need to do multiplayer, you can play the Tyranids single player if you want.) Can also edit the load outs so you can have as many high point and high end units as you want. Would recommend, especially if you are interested in the 40k universe.

Honestly one of the better Warhammer 40k games to be released. The campaign is certainly great for loremasters amongst you as it takes place during Era Indomitus/the fall of Cadia.
