Wreckfest is truly a racing game that lives up to its name. Aggressive driving and smashing cars to pieces in the familiar Derby style of Flatout games. The game features a single-player Career game format, but clearly Wreckfest is best with friends.

Great graphics, great physics. Pretty decent single player campaign(s). Weekly/monthly tournaments keep it fresh. Devs regularly adding new vehicles and tracks. A great game all around for racing fans. The crashing physics are the main draw and appeal of this game, and it delivers superbly. Check out some of the physics tweaks mods from the Steam Workshop for the single player campaign if you get bored.

Finally, a driving game that feels like you're driving a real car with a real suspension, not just sliding a car-shaped hockey puck around on a track-shaped ice rink. And you get to customize the bejeezus out of them. And then smash them into things! No powerups, no rubberbanding, just driving (and crashing) skills.
The only ding I can give is the large-arena demolition-derby events, which just don't seem to have quite the right camera angle to make fun and effective (and all the AI drivers have an absolutely-UNCANNY ability to avoid you somehow)
An absolute *must-have* on sale for $12 though; you can skip the DLCs unless you get really hooked, and buy those later.
