About Yakuza 0

About this game

Crime doesn’t pay… apparently!

It’s time to hit the streets of 1980s Japan and witness a crime underworld that needs a good ass-whooping with your Yakuza 0 Steam PC key.

WHAT IS YAKUZA 0
In this action-adventure, you’ll take on the role of protagonists Kazuma Kiryu – a man who finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered – and Goro Majima, trying to live his life as the proprietor of a cabaret club.

KICK ASS
Seamlessly switch between three different fighting styles to spice up your combat during street fights with goons, thugs, hoodlums, and lowlifes. Take combat up a notch by using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and car doors for bone-crunching combos and savage take-downs.

ONE FOR THE SIDE MISSION FANS
From discos and hostess clubs to classic SEGA arcades and karaoke, there are tons of distractions to pursue in side missions and sub-stories in the richly detailed, neon-lit world of 80s. Help a budding S&M dominatrix learn her profession, or ensure a street performer can make it to the bathroom in time – there are 100 incredible stories to discover.

LET’S DO BUSINESS
Help Kazuma and Goro build businesses from the ground up and earn top dollar… well, Yen actually. Use your well-earned Completion Points to unlock more hostesses and security staff.

  • 'Very Positive' Steam rated game.
  • Entrepreneurship, real estate and CP rewards.

Staff Review
Combining real estate, awesome fights and a vast amount of enjoyable side missions makes Yakuzo 0 one heck of a purchase. It's a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, and provides hours of enjoyable action-adventure RPG gameplay. If you're looking for a game that has karaoke, kick-ass combat and an 80s vibe - you've found it!

A deep dive into a Yakuza classic

Through recommendations, I was advised to checked out Yakuza 0 by a few friends of mine. Without any information besides a few memes to go off of, I delved into this game relatively blind. I'm glad I did not look up anything prior to attempting to completing some of the side stories. Yakuza 0 is a drama through and through. Each time I pick up and play for through it's episodic stories, I find myself becoming captivated by it's world and it's characters. Even the side stories that bring along characters who show up for that one specific instance bring about a certain charming nature to the adventure. Above all else, the voice acting in this game is superb. Even in some situations where a one off character appears, the developers took the time out to include the voices of the NPC's as well. This goes far and beyond the typical standards in other games and I highly commend them for their work because of it. My only gripe with this game is the grind. While I understand the new to gate things for progression purposes, to procure specific abilities behind slightly annoying side quests can cause a bit of a hiccup in the experience. However, beyond that hurdle, the combat can be a bit clunky. Enemies can break entire combos and a specific enemy type can trap you in a continuous attack, leaving you vulnerable to their barrages if you are not careful. The good heavily outweighs the bad though. I highly recommend this game to anyone who hasn't touched the Yakuza series and wishes to get into it.

I mean, it's Yakuza? You're going to get 2 different stories being told at the same time with this one as it focuses on two protagonists. A few ways you help out the NPCs are hilarious, and some are gut-wrenching. As far as a prequel goes, this isn't bad, and it's a ton of fun! The most annoying NPC is the Mr. Shakedown. Are you not anticipating his annoying self? Guess what, you just lost a ton of money. Since money is used to buy your abilities, it is the most aggravating thing. Some more ridiculous side quests have you playing crane machines and racing little cars on a race track. You can play the game for hours just doing side quests.

A port done right, and a real joy to play. The 2 protagonists have great personalities, good motivations and are charismatic, the story is beautifully narrated and the action is never dull. Replaying this for the third time now, and still finding little details that add to the game value.

Running in the 80's

Yakuza 0 is the fan favourite title in the series, and for good reason. Centred in the fictional district of Tokyo, Kamurocho, during the 1980's, you get to live out the glamour and ugliness of being an up and coming yakuza from two perspectives, as both fan favourite characters Kazama Kiryu and Goro Majima. You get to brawl it out with thugs on the streets, engage with the night life of 80's Japan, play to your hearts content in the arcades and many, many more activities. You even get to obtain a rooster. Initially releasing on Playstation 3 and 4, the PS4 version stood out as being the franchise's resurgence in the west, and also the basis for the PC port. This port just so happens to be utterly fantastic to boot, with buttery smooth performance on even older hardware, where the game will easily hit 60fps. For more modern machines, 144fps is also very easily achieved for an even smoother experience. The game is fantastically priced and regularly goes on sale too, so you'd be a fool to not give it a go.

the best balance between serious story and incredibly funny sidequests. This is the only game I've ever played that made me audibly laugh at some of the dialog.

Amazing game. Balances a great story with insane, absurd side quests. This game has exactly my type of humor, but it may not be everyone's.
