Yakuza:Like a Dragon is an ode to classic gaming tropes with a breath of fresh air to gaming overall

Yakuza:Like a Dragon while the 7th game of the Yakuza series does not deter newcomers to the franchise to pick it up and play.It is a turn-based game and its fluid mechanics allow it to be enjoyable even for people that dislike the genre. It should be noted that playing the previous games allows certain moments and character reveals do be even more impactful. The game is fresh, unique and dedicated to old school gamers as the protagonist Ichiban is one and finds himself at his forties questioning everything he knows. The gameplay follows the classic Yakuza recipe with a more high stakes albeit less serious than previous games storyline and many fun sidequests ranging from heartfelt attempts to make a child keep its will to live to helping an adult Yakuza baby with diapers.Aside from the sidequests the game offers many, many minigames such as Pachinko or Dragon Kart a variation of the classic kart games. All in all Yakuza:Like a Dragon is a game worth picking up even if you are not a fan of turn-based games or even if you havent played any Yakuza games before.
