You know people love remakes, a remake holds a piece of nostalgia, a piece of someone’s childhood within it. But when the remake’s a complete success its importance is automatically elevated to another level such is the case with the Baldur’s gate remakes. A classic, RPG game brought to life, with better shaders and control panel, is nothing but a hit among the old fans, hitting them with their gaming nostalgia making them reminiscence the good old days. One of the greatest console western RPGs, to ever come out back in the 2000s Baldurs gate has made a pretty big name for itself, which is something not to be overlooked. With the third game still in early access and in development stated to be released sometime next year let’s take a deep dive into its highly successful predecessors.
! About Baldur’s Gate I !
Spawned from the popular DnD ( short form for Dungeons and Dragons Franchise ) Baldur's Gate is a series of role-playing games set in the Forgotten realms Dungeons and Dragon campaign setting. The game has spawned two series, known as the Bhaalspawn Saga and the Dark Alliance, both taking place mostly within the western Heaterlands, but the Bhaalspawn Saga extends to Amn and Tethyr. The Dark Alliance series was released for consoles and was critically and commercially successful. The Bhaalspawn Saga was critically acclaimed for using pausable real-time gameplay, which is credited with revitalizing the computer role-playing game (CRPG) genre. Originally launched for the Playstation 2, in 2012 it was announced by Atari that Beamdog and Overhaul Games would be making remakes of the original games. The series was revived thanks to this, bringing in new and old fans alike to the franchise, which also subsequently lead to the ongoing Baldurs Gate III, which is currently still in beta and is handled by larian studios who are renowned for their divinity series of games.
