Neverinth is an interesting combination between the rouge-like games that I love and the souls-like games that I love to hate. The procedurally generated dungeons and rouge-like gameplay offer a fresh start into each run where you'll encounter enemies that are challenging enough to make the game feel fulfilling while you work your way between upgrades and eventually into the boss room itself. The bosses have interesting and original mechanics that are as brutal as they are rewarding to overcome with the variety of player abilities the game gives you. The player has access to powerful daggers, that're actually useful compared to souls games, as well as explosives that can both open hidden paths as well as be used against enemies. The player also has access to Life Dept, an ability that allows the player to execute attacks with increased damage at the cost of a temporary health debuff. There are some bad points to the game as well including some enemies spamming attacks that do massive damage while also giving them I-frames. The dodge mechanic, while unique between characters, can also be quite clunky or straight up not work from time to time. The game is also still in development and you will more than likely reach the end but rouge-likes are meant to be replayed anyway. Overall the game has been a good experience for myself and I would recommend it to those who enjoy the challenge of a souls-like game and want to add that rouge-like flare to their gameplay.
