After beating the first boss I'd give this a 7/10 and would defer to 2D action-scroller fans for more details.
This is essentially Chrome's offline Dinosaur Game, but where the cacti can move, shoot needles, and there's more enemies; plus you have anime characters narrating the main backstory to try and create a complete package.

A fun, challenging, sidescrolling, 2d, pixelated runner game, where you play as a birb named chicken.
Each level you have one mission: get through the level while dodging randomly generated obstacles that come across your way. Every time you die, the obstacles randomly generate again, so there is never really the same one again, just similar, which sometimes births impossible senarios, but only set you back a small bit, since reviving is fast and efficient.
The music in each level is fantastically charming and take away from the frustration that you might feel after repeated failure on a harder obstacled area.
