Superbugs: Awaken

Superbugs has one basic premise, which it does execute acceptably, but this is too simplistic to keep adults entertained. The maze part of each game seems to be just a maze with nothing in it, and the virus boss at the end isn't challenging enough in its attacks to be interesting.

I expected the game to be different for some reason... The levels are very short, you can complete the first 4 in less than 2 minutes, later ones you will fail because time runs out. The level design is boring, your quest repetitive and boring. Describing these viruses a pain because some will keep fleeing and they can spot you across the map for some reason. The player who is supposed to guide you cannot see where you are and has to go blind, which might work in the beginning but once he has to construct the vaccine he loses every bit of orientation he had. There are no real landmarks either for easy re-orientation because the more special rooms are there at least twice. The shapes you describe are there multiple times because no matter what you say, there will be 2-3 options that fit. Very annoying.

Game is surprisingly fun - it's like a cross between Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and Doom. One player is in Doom-genre, the other player has the minimap to guide the player to the enemy; once the enemy is found, the Doom player must describe its appearance and actions, and the map-player must select those things from a set of things (which, like Keep Talking, are intentionally awkward to get a sufficiently accurate description, by having surprising similarities) The downside is, it's absolutely necessary to have a friend to play it with (you literally cannot play it without a partner), and both must own their own copy of the game. At the current pricepoint in a bundle that's not a big deal, but at full price it's a bit offputting.

it was a unique game and i love unique games especially indie games. i highly recommend this game.

The game is great for those who are very descriptive. i never realized there were so many shapes that could be described as "butt plug" before playing this game. really fun time.
