Potions don’t only have to be for utility!

7 Silly Potions I Hope to See in Hogwarts Legacy

Whilst I can't wait for Hogwarts Legacy to release so I can make my very own witch and run around casting spells, it'd be a lie to say that one of the mechanics I'm most excited for is potions! And while there are some phenomenal options to make missions and quests fun, I don't want to overlook the ones we could craft just for some silly times.

Here are seven potions I hope appear in Hogwarts Legacy so I can cause some mischief on the school grounds!

Disclaimer: whilst some of these might get you really excited about the game, we do caution you against placing high expectations! Let's not forget that — at the end of the day — this is a videogame that needs a budget and comes with limitations. This article is just for fun! Let's be nice to game developers.

Caxambu Style Borborygmus Potion

Caxambu Style Borborygmus Potion

This one is a bit of a silly one, but I can't help but giggle at the idea of walking around Hogwarts with my stomach growling! It really just exists to make you make noises from your gut, but I think it'd be a phenomenal way to start off a feast with some laughs!

Confusing Concoction

One of my favourite things to do in games is to get my characters drunk to watch them wobble around. It's even funnier if I then go into a fight! This is why I'd love to see the Confusing Concoction in Hogwarts Legacy — I'd make a few of them and run at some enemies to see how difficult a battle could be.

Pompion Potion

Pompion Potion

As a huge fan of Halloween, I really hope we get the Pompion Potion, which temporarily turns the drinker's head into a pumpkin! This would be incredibly adorable, and I'd probably spend hours brewing tons of them just to walk around with a pumpkin head.

Polyjuice Potion

The Polyjuice Potion works both as a great quest option and for fun, too! The idea of drinking it and turning into a character from the game to walk around the school pretending to be them sounds like a ton of fun. The idea of it takes me back to driving like a normal person in Grand Theft Auto just for the fun of it!

Swelling Solution

Swelling Solution

The Swelling Solution — for those who may not know — causes items to grow bigger upon contact! I thought this might be a pretty cool addition, as I love changing the size of objects in games. I think it’d be a pretty silly yet fun potion to have!

Angel's Trumpet Draught

"Curiosity killed the cat" is a well-known proverb, and I plan to test it out if I can get my hands on an Angel's Trumpet draught! We don't know what it does, and I'd be willing to die to find out.

Volubilis Potion

Last but not least, Helium is a ton of fun to use in real life, so I'd love to replicate that in-game through the Volubilis Potion. Taking it and hearing my character's voice change whilst I go into battle is probably a sure-fire way to get some giggles out of me!

And that's it! That's all the fun potions I hope to see in Hogwarts Legacy. If you can't wait to jump into the game and cause some mischief via potion-making, consider getting Hogwarts Legacy's Deluxe edition pre-order, which has 72-hour early access to the game!
