History

With an emphasis on intricate game systems and player freedom, classic roguelikes and RPGs provide challenge where your creativity, and perhaps your stats, are your only limits. We present these adventures in first-person, immersing you in the adventure. Quest alone, or with a full party, with each class offering skills and abilities to the team's toolbox. It's everything we love about table-top roleplaying, roguelikes, and immersive first-person action, in one complete package. With dungeons that are different every time you die, it's the lessons you take away from each delve that'll stick with you, while high-stakes thrills and surprises keep you coming back for more..

Quality, Hard Voxel Based Dungeon Crawler

While I got it for multiplayer, it is still engaging solo, though it also becomes a far harder and more unforgiving experience. It's a fine experience dungeon crawling in the usual procedurally generated roguelike holes, with a high learning curve to get a handle on how to fight more than one skeleton at a time. A few good boss battles, some limited enemy variety at some points, but -especially- if you have a friend or three to play with, a great time fighting voxel bad guys in the mines.

When I first got Barony, I didn't expect what a grand time I would have with it. Got me hooked for weeks. Barony's a great first-person roguelike that may feel difficult at first, but each death is a learning experience in the ways of the game. After a little while you'll be nailing the first few floors with relative ease, assuming you don't get a series of really bad stages, but the game tends to play fair for the most part. The class selection is nice and various, allowing for many types of playthroughs, increasing replayability even further. Though I never used it much, the Multiplayer feature seems like it would be barrels of fun with a couple friends. It's honestly a bit of a shame that Barony isn't more popular, it has a ton of detail and gameplay. If you like a good roguelike and/or are looking for one with multiplayer, I'd definitely recommend this game. You'll be spending hours on the game before you realize it.

Barony is a great rogue like dungeon crawler, with procedually generated levels, that offers a plethora of different styles to play and a ton of items and enemies. The visual is voxel based and fits quite well with the rogue like elements and because of the voxels, the devs are able to get away with elements in the game that does not seem rather realistic, but are believeable in a voxel based game. Plus it had co-op which makes it even more fun, playing with your friends is always fun. The sounds and music is atmospheric and the style fits the theme and style of the rest of the game. highly recommend also getting the DLC's for the game, as that adds more stuff to the game.

Great stuff, reminiscent of the alt idSoft titles like Hexen and Heretic, good stuff.
