Volume 1 line-up features the original titles and beginning of the METAL GEAR series, including the original versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (which also includes VR Missions/Special Missions), and the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
Each main title in the line-up will also include an exclusive digital Screenplay Book and Master Book that details the story and characters in that game. This collection includes the classic versions of the games, complete with only minimal edits to copyrighted contents.

MGS1 and VR Missions:
They appear to be emulations of the PS1 versions, but they include the NTSC, PAL, and Japanese (Integral) versions and have some light customization options, at least.
MGS2 and MGS3:
These seem to be ports of the HD Collection versions from the PS3/Xbox 360 era. However, they perform very well on PC, have some modding support, and I was able to play through all the titles without any issues.
MGS 2 and 3 might actually be the current best way to experience the games on PC — provided you have a controller, at least.

Very decent ports. Seem to be at the level of the ps3-x360 ports, which is very good news indeed. What sets this release apart from other ports is that many versions of the games are included, so you don't miss out on much (it's a shame that the ps2 exclusive stuff (skateboarding and monkeys) doesn't show up, tho)
