About Figment

About this game

A musical action-adventure set in the recesses of the human mind... Welcome to the world of Figment. A strange and surreal world; a place filled with our deepest thoughts, urges and memories, populated by the many voices we hear in our heads.

This mind has been quiet and calm for many years. But something has changed. New thoughts have started to emerge - taking the shape of nightmarish creatures who spread fear wherever they go. The only hope is for the grumpy Dusty, the mind's former voice of courage, to get back to his old self and help the mind to face its fears.

Join Dusty and his ever-optimistic friend, Piper, on an adventure through the different sides of the mind, solving puzzles to set things straight, beating back the nightmares and seeking to restore the courage that's been lost.

Experience how traditionally hand-painted brushstrokes come to life in a world filled with surreal art, colorful illustrations and charming characters. Experience the unique artstyles of the joyful Freedom Isles, the radiant Clockwork Town and the ominous Pathways.

Music is an integral part of Figment. Explore a rhythmic environment full of trumpet trees, piano houses and singing enemies and discover how your actions influence this musical universe and its dynamic soundtrack.

Take an emotional journey to face universal human fears and help Dusty bring peace to the mind again. Overcome the Nightmares by using their dirty tricks to your advantage.

Figment offers various challenges for all kind of players. Swing your sword skillfully at the enemies, rack your brain to solve puzzles and combine the two in epic musical boss battles.

Overall I'd recommend grabbing this on if you enjoy short puzzle games with a good aesthetic

Figment is a short and sweet puzzle adventure game. I enjoyed my time throughout. None of the puzzles were too complicated in their nature but they were generally fun and rewarding to solve. The visual design for Figment is simply fantastic. There is quite the mix of ideas and concepts throughout that meshes together well. Figment tells a lot of the story through music and it delivers it with some rather memorable tracks The characters, writing and dialogue were quite clever and enjoyable. I loved the boss fights and definitely was looking forward to the next encounter each and every time.

The way it blends its music into its gameplay is exceptional! Fun, quirky and at times dark, Figment is, well, more whole then the name implies.

Story might have had some impact if they cut out the opening scene that explains exactly what has happened. Simply removing that audio/dialogue would have improved the game a fair amount. Puzzles are tedious. The character just feels slow and it doesn't help when something requires going back and forth. Combat is not good. Collecting memories felts like a waste of time. There was no reward and they added very little to the story. Could have done more. Visually interesting. Characters are decent. Has some decent songs. Not really sure who the game is meant for. The subject matter is clearly aimed at a more mature audiance but the gameplay feels to shallow to be for adults. I feel like it has a ton of potential but falls flat on it's face.

Simple puzzle game with basic combat, 4-5 hours to beat and worth checking out

I quite enjoyed this game, although a fairly simple puzzle game with some basic combat it keeps you engaged. Also as an adult that doesn't even like musicals I got to say the songs in this game were actually pretty good. It's fairly suitable for children with a pretty interesting concept and good execution. took 7 hours to beat and that's with exploring every area, probably around 4-5 for the main story. Overall I'd say this is a very interesting short story game that is absolutely worth checking out and either buying for or even playing it with your kids.
