About Hue

About this game

“Since the beginning we have pointed to the sky and declared it blue. It is this shared vision, this unquestioned understanding which connects us. But are you really seeing blue the same way I see it?”

Hue is a vibrant, award-winning puzzle-adventure, where you alter the world by changing its background colour. You explore a dangerous grey land, unearthing coloured fragments on a journey to find your missing mother. As obstacles match the background, they disappear, creating new and exciting puzzles - full of peril, mystery… and colours unseen.

Key Features:

  • Unique colour-matching mechanic, offering a new twist on the classic adventure game.
  • A heartfelt story that touches on themes of love, loss, existence and remorse.
  • A world full of lively characters to talk to, each with their own personality and story.
  • Stark silhouetted art style with bright, bold colours.
  • Over 30 original music tracks, composed exclusively for Hue.
  • Professionally voiced narration by Anna Acton and Matthew Wade, some of the UK’s best television talent.
  • Full colourblind support, using symbols as a colour aid.
  • Razer Chroma, Corsair RGB plus many more coloured LED devices supported on Windows.

Wasn't hard, simple story, easy/medium puzzles

Queenie

The game was entertaining and mentally challenging with it's puzzles, but weren't too hard as to make me want to give up. The story line of the game was simple and enjoyable. I also loved the voice acting and the music that came with this game. If you are looking for an easy puzzle game to fill your free time with, I 100% recommend this game.

Really unique and challenging puzzle game

Staff Review
Really enjoyable to play, I love how it builds in complexity as you unlock each colour. The game is recommended for controllers but I played with keyboard and trackpad (not even a mouse!) and it was mostly fine.

My Video Review can be found here: https://youtu.be/iFKCywfVXv0 There are many pros that make one love the game - atmospheric story along with great narration, original game concept, gradual learning curve, responsive and intuitive controls, variability of puzzles, solid graphics and soundtrack. However, it is for sure not a flawless game. The biggest minus for me is the variability and emptiness of the environment. More interactive objects or some living enemy creatures would definitely make the game even more interesting. Other minuses are dull sounds and the absence of RPG elements or some other stuff except the colors that would enhance the gameplay and make it more variable yet. Is it suitable for family playing? I would say so thanks to the challenging but not frustrating puzzles and screen-by-screen gameplay. Pros: - story with narration - original game concept - gradual learning curve - controls - variability of puzzles - graphics and soundtrack Cons: - variability of environment - emptiness - sounds - lack of main character development As I have enjoyed Hue most of the time I am giving it Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s index 7+ out of 10 - recommended with some discount.

An interesting puzzle platformer which has some beautiful moments but he gimmick wears thin after the third colour is added, becoming mostly tedious to play through by the end. Interesting for a while, but might fail to hold attention the way games like Limbo or Inside might. The narrative might save it from a worse rating, the voice of the narrator is very pleasant, but the story can only hook you so much.

Thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was challenging at times, but never unfair. The story is intriguing without overwhelming the game. This game is beautiful, the use of colour is excellent. I enjoyed it so much that I convinced all of my friends and my dad to buy it (they all loved it too).
