About Porcunipine

About this game

BEHOLD THE GREAT ERA OF HAIRLOSS AND DEATH...

Porcunipine is a couch multiplayer about balding porcupines fighting courageously for survival using their very last pointy quills.

The concept of the game is simple: You are a majestic and terribly violent porcunipine. You have one quill which you can shoot at your opponents. Once you shoot, you have to go and pick up that quill before you can shoot again. Your quill rebounds from walls and obstacles, and can kill you just as easily as it can kill your enemies.

fun but a learning curve

It is a fun and simple game where you shoot arrows or pines at your enemies in a single arena. The retro pixel style of the game is nice to look at - not really "pixel art" or whatever, but okay. But the controls are although reasonably smooth, very hard to learn. There is quite a learning curve, and this does not have to do with the shooting itself, but aiming the arrow. Especially aiming diagonally is difficult with a controller, and sometimes the controller veers back which causes the arrows to go in wild directions. The only thing that really works is walking directly towards you enemies and releasing the pine. That way it will go to the right direction, but it also makes you quite vulnerable, because yes you are walking towards your enemy. The game is also quite basic: there is no sandbox version where you can adapt the speed of your enemies or give yourself 3 extra lives. Just one game version with the same difficulty in different arenas.

This is game is tons of fun, specially at parties when you are with children or with people drinking or stoned, controls are really easy and you can pick up what the game is about really fast, so you can end up having tons of fun regardless of the skill level or hand coordination of the other players
