Ever wondered what splatoon would be like if it was a racing game instead of a 3rd person squid shooter?
Well Rising Star Games has done it again bringing you another game out of left field.
Buckle up the seat belt in your 50's style hover racer and prepare to paint the track and boost your way to victory. Some people that like classic racing games may be a little put off by some of the odd mechanics, but that in no way is a reflection of how great a concept this game has compared to a typical racing game.
If quirky and fun are your primary needs out of a game then this is the racer for you.

When I saw the visuals of the game I was thinking I found a fun new racing game with an innovative painting mechanic but in truth the gameplay is rather dull, the presentation is great but the vehicle feeling, the core gameplay loop, and the "story" were rather bland. I was extremely excited to try this game as the game had a similar feeling to Jet Set Radio with the zany characters and breakbeat soundtrack but in truth the game pales in comparison. In terms of gameplay alone, the vehicles feel like driving on ice and the sense of speed is poor unless you manage to paint the entire track in which case the speed becomes almost unmanagable with a punishing slow-down for slightly touching the barriers. There are some odd design choices too, this game has a tiny amount of dialogue recorded by voice actors - and I mean REALLY tiny, so you hear the characters go "oh yeah!" etc every single time a new dialogue box pops up and it becomes extremely irritating. Overall the game isn't horrible but its not worth playing either, I had more fun with the other racing games in the bundle and I wasn't expecting that - I really thought this game was going to be much better.
