The meta-progression in the game is completely necessary to beat the game, and that isn't really a problem, in some games can work, unless the meta-progression is horrible grindy to get. And is not just awfully grindy to collect the coins, no, you also have the get the rng to give you the chip you want to buy, because the store only has 2 at a time, and resets after each run, and if you want a chip but you don't have the coins you can't save it. Seriously who designed that?
