About Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered

About this game

Guilt is a Chilling Feeling...

Originally released in 2005, Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in North America) was a breakthrough in interactive narrative, teetering between the worlds of cinema and gaming while also embracing them, carving its own unique genre in the entertainment landscape. This newly remastered edition features updated graphics, controller support AND is based on the uncut/uncensored international version of the game.

With a rich multilayered narrative, innovative presentation, and a chilling musical score by famed Hollywood composer Angelo Badalamenti, Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered serves as the definitive version of the supernatural murder mystery and (re)introduces the groundbreaking title to old and new fans alike.

Features:

  • Interactive Drama — An intuitive control scheme and spectacular split-screen presentation complement the game's mysterious noir narrative.
  • Extensive Replayability — With branching dialog and multiple endings, each playthrough of the game yields a different outcome.
  • Multiple Characters — Take control of the narrative through four different playable characters, each illuminating a different perspective of the story.
  • Fully Voiced Script — Every line from the extensive script is voiced by professional actors in English, French, German, and Spanish.
  • Cinematic Score — Fahrenheit features a fully orchestrated score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, famous for his extensive work with director David Lynch.
  • Uncut version of the game — Unlike the original North American release, Remastered contains all of the game's original scenes, uncensored and uncut.

Key Upgrades:

  • High-definition Graphics — All of the in-game textures have been meticulously recreated in HD for desktop.
  • Controller Support — Support for Sony and Microsoft controllers for desktop platforms.
  • Live Graphics Comparison — Players can switch between the updated visuals and the original art assets by pressing F9

I played this game like 12 years ago, didn't finish it then so I bought it now, the story is interesting and I like the stress system in the game, 8/10 for me but totally recommended

A nice attempt at something more than just an empty "Vidyagame for the kids" somewhat falls flat but still, a well done effort

While we had some fun playing Fahrenheit, ultimately it's a thumbs down. If the game had continued with what it was building up to during early to mid game to then arrive at an at least decent finale that resolves most of the story threads it'd be different, but man... that's not what's happening here. To provide a recent comparison, it feels a lot like Game of Thrones when they ran out of source material in the last two seasons. Sure, the QTEs are often atrocious and most definitely overstay their welcome, but there's some fun you can get out of them especially when not playing this alone. You can even overlook the clunky control scheme and several "How the f was I supposed to know that?!" moments this game will pull on you occasionally. Because despite all that, you still want to know what happens next. But the game falls apart spectacularly in the last quarter. It's painfully obvious that a lot of planned content was either scrapped or cut, because suddenly character developments stop making any sense at all to the point of being "The Room"-Level hilarious. Plot points and entire characters are being dropped left and right and any consistency in storytelling goes out the window. This shatters any suspension of disbelief you had and needed as a player and just leaves you with a "What did I do all this for?" feeling after the credits roll.
