Heroes of Hammerwatch

From a huge fan of the existing Hammerwatch, I was excited to play this. And I do indeed love it. The formula is now different though. This is an Action Rogue-lite, with procedurally generated levels. So every time you play, you need to start from the beginning again, but when you die, you get to keep your XP and any riches that you managed to bank, to help you become more powerful for your next run. For fans of that play-die-improve-repeat loop, it is still a lot of fun. But as a fan of the original, I feel less soul, less character from the mindless repetition of randomly generated levels, rather than the lovingly crafted levels of the first game. Added to which, a decent chunk of the game is hidden behind a paywall, making you cough up for extra paid DLC to get all the content. Some disappointing development decisions were made here. But the core game itself is still fun and worth playing, especially co-op.

Good little dungeon crawler. Barrier to entry is pretty low, so I can do a quick run when I'm in the mood. There's a bit too much kiting needed for my tastes, but that's expected in a twin stick game like this.

Very good rougelike, very nice game.

The game runs remarkably smoothly. The enemies are fun to fight, regardless of the kind of wonky aiming. I haven't found a dodge mechanic which would improve combat considerably, but if one exists, the combat would be even more fun then it already is. Honestly a 8/10 due to a couple odd quirks

Nice little game, recommended for fans of the first Hammerwatch. Improved in almost every way.

It's a fun game, i enjoy every minute of playing. a lot to do with a lot of fun
