The world is hard, no one will hold your hand, you will die a lot, you will lose your arms and/or legs, racist faction will attack you if you don't meet their standards, every wild animal can kill you in the beginning are just some of the things you may experience in Kenshi.
But this game's atmosphere is amazing and it was developed by a single guy with a big passion while ignoring publishers (that come along with "requests"). Great job!
A high degree of freedom game, an ordinary people's survival challenge.

This is a game with a very high degree of freedom. In the game, players can play a role they like, but the start is not as powerful as other hero stories. They can only survive hard, but it makes people feel more realistic.
! Introduction !
With fabulous graphics, brilliant mechanics, and smooth controls, Kenshi may be your most beloved game to play. First of all, let me confirm the game isn’t as easy as it seems, as there are vicious enemies and their bosses await you, so be careful whenever you attempt to play because your main goals include survival, survival, and survival.
Kenshi is a squad-based Role-playing video game that takes place in an ancient open-ended sandbox-themed world, featuring a linear story to unfold. Whether you love to be a thief, a rebel, a warlord, a farmer, or an adventurer, the game has different types of professions to choose from, and advance through the story. Each character brings its unique background storyline and a different ending.
! Free-Roaming Squad-based Gameplay !
As the game starts, you find yourself in an open-world environment where brutal forces are ruling over it and threatening innocent people while killing slaves. People are dying from starving as leaders have taken over all the food to make people their slaves. In short, they are hoping a hero who can rescue them from the custody of dark forces. Different types of roles are featured, including:
• Farmer
• Slave
• Warlord
• Rebel
• Thief
• Trader
• And more.
! Traditional Weapons and Detailed Environment !
Choosing your favorite role would lead you to an ancient world where advanced weapons haven’t existed, and people preferred using sword and other traditional weapons like an ax, arrows, bows, and more. You are from ordinary people, who may get beaten by leaders, get haunted, or be enslaved. Therefore, you should always be ready to face off all types of critical situations and learn how to survive every scene. First of all, you should learn some basic rules, recruit a squad using powerful and clever people wisely, and train them to defeat opposing forces.
! Struggle for Your Survival !
Furthermore, the game isn’t about luck; it’s about strategy, guts, and proper planning for your survival. Command your force on the battlefield to dominate the opposing forces and claim rewards to unlock new stuff. The graphics are amazing, and the developer did a great job on visual effects as they engaged you for endless hours of fun. You use the third-person camera angle while navigating the ever-changing world to battle enemies.
! Realistic Medical System and Intelligent AI !
The introduction of a realistic medical system would be great for you as it helps to retrieve the wounded...

Open world.
Exploration.
Survival.
Hiding, stealing.. er borrowing to survive.
Kidnapping/capturing - turning in bounties, lockpicking, escaping, more hiding.
Base building: because of raids/wars/invasion or just for storage; researching tech.
Its a rpg, adventure, real time strategy, all in one.
I think maybe just watch this: https://lofigames.com/kenshi_game/
- Its what got this game on my radar years ago and got me interested.
Its not a friendly handholding tutorial world, nearly everything and everyone wants to kill, enslave or simply eat you. There's slavers, bandits, strange creatures, robots..
All doom and gloom yes, however, provided you survive, you learn and get stronger from it and it forms part of your story. Of course there is always thankfully save and load options and autosaves to go back before you lost your whole team..
