About Mega Man Legacy Collection

About this game

Mega Man Legacy Collection is a celebration of the 8-bit history of Capcom’s iconic Blue Bomber. Featuring faithful reproductions of the series’ origins with the original six Mega Man games, the Legacy Collection will remind long-time fans and introduce newcomers to what made Mega Man such a popular and iconic character. Mega Man Legacy Collection will feature all six games and more!

In addition to the six Mega Man games, Mega Man Legacy Collection features new ways to experience the classic games with the Museum Mode and new Challenge Mode. Challenge Mode remixes gameplay segments from all six games, with plenty of scaling difficulty objectives for experienced players to conquer yet serving as a good starting point for new players, too. Museum Mode contains a comprehensive collection of history, high-res art and original concept pieces – a mega treat for any fan of Mega Man and video game history.

Key Features

  • 8-bit style with HD flair – The games retain their retro 8-bit style with an added HD finish, giving a crisp, clean look to the charming, classic sprites.
  • Challenge remix mode for new and veteran players – The robust new Challenge Mode remixes gameplay from all six games for a new type of challenge. Pan Dimensional Being
Obviously these games are easy to come by for free. Like the Sega Genesis collection you can emulate all 6 of these very easily, so why buy this? There's a few things that have to happen for me to buy a pack like this: First is smooth gameplay. Emulators don't always run as nice as you might want them to and this pack definitely works great. I had no trouble replaying the games on Steam here. Second is the audiovisual aspect. Emulators can maim music and can glitch out a bit. Partly because the original systems did this and it's not the emulators fault, but it is still irritating. This pack gave me no trouble on sound or sprites phasing out, at least no more than if I plugged in my old NES and that's enough for me. Third it has to add something. At least something more than just a Capcom brand emulator. This pack has achievements, Steam cards, challenges, a Museum of concept art, and even online Leaderboards so they added plenty of new content. All in all if you like the old 8-bit Mega Man games then yeah, pick this up. Give Capcom your money for the same games for a third or fourth time. And do pick up Mega Man 11 while you're at it. Trust me it is worth it. NOTE: Though I recommend the pack I hate how Capcom did this. There is no reason to split the collections. Yeah, fine, disc space for consoles used to be a thing and a reliable excuse for splitting game volumes, but as a PC release on Steam releasing seperate volumes for 1-6 and 7-10 is pure cash grab and annoying. That said, I did buy it, even if on sale.
