About Nigate Tale

About this game

Nigate Tile is a rogue-like dungeon crawler with unique low-poly and 2D anime art. Fight your way out of a mysterious enchanted castle, searching for materials and loot to buy and craft new equipment, leveling up your character to get new combat skills, and befriend cute monster girls capable of boosting you with astonishing magical powers!

In Nigate Tale you play Roy, a crafty young engineer and adventurer. One day, you were flying in your airplane when a strange cloud sucked you into a strange, unknown world. You crashed in the sewers of a castle, inhabited by strange magical creatures. You have to explore every corner of this ever-changing castle to find all the missing parts… and piece together the secret story of this place, unveiling the thousands-years-old mystery that trapped it out of time and space.

Your mission won’t be easy: you’ll have to fight your way out of the labyrinthic corners of this castle, full of monsters, traps, and all kinds of hazards. Every time you die, you will reappear in the same place, as in stuck in a neverending time loop… but the castle will have changed its layout, forcing you to begin your path anew!

Enjoy the thrill of a fast-paced and deep combat system that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Nigate Tale gives you total freedom to choose your own playstyle, with dozens of weapons of all kinds (melee and ranged, slow but strong and weak but fast…), different types of magic, and several skills trees for you to level up, creating in every playthrough a unique character to fight with.

You’ll need to hone your skills and level up to learn new fighting techniques if you are to get out of this castle... But luckily you won’t be alone in this fight: this castle is also inhabited by friendly monster ladies, capable of granting you magical powers and even fighting by your side… if you manage to befriend them and bring them the right presents!

As you beat enemies in your incursions to the heart of the castle, you will loot gold you can use to buy new gear. But you can also gather materials to craft your own special equipment – and of course, the special items needed to gain the favor of the monster girls!

Hermit Game, the studio behind Nigate Tale, was founded by former artists in the anime industry. You’ll be the protagonist of your own vibrant and colorful anime show!

Nigate Tale is a decent roguelike that has a monster girl theme. It's fun for the price on Fanatical, but overall is very buggy and filled with what appears to be mistranslations. The mistranslations make the story a little difficult to follow, but overall the combat

Decent roguelike, has it's fun and bad elements. Not polished at all and feels sometimes too broken.

Nigate tale is a decent roguelike, not as big and important as the titans of this genre like dead cells, isaac, hades, etc. but nevertheless, fun. The mechanics are interesting to play with, combining different elements and upgrades given by characters for a set amount of weapons, improving relationships with said characters, combat is pretty dinamic, etc. But. The game has a lot of issues, there is an infinite amount of cheese based on the fact that the enemy AI is not far from a sponge intelligent wise, The variety of levels is awful as you traverse the same few locations with different difficulties. Sometimes the balance is just non-existent. Some elements of GUI are in chinese (not critical tho, 95% is in english and the few things in chinese are far in between). Liked it but felt it was too unpolished. I would recommend it to players who already played every roguelike they wanted and are looking for more. Wouldn't recommend it to someone as one of the first roguelikes in their experience.

It's solid and has promise, but seems to be abandoned by the developers in an unfinished state.

It's fun and charming enough, though I didn't play very long. However, it's clearly unfinished and seems to be abandoned, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you get it a good discount and know what you're getting into.

This is a hidden gem. It still needs a bit of polish, but I had a ton of fun playing through it. It needs some work on the English translation. In fact, it was so bad I couldn't understand what they were trying to say most of the time. Because of that, I don't know what was going on as far as the story is concerned at all. Something about a castle and wanting to talk to the lord because you damaged their garden. The gameplay though is amazing. You're outfitted with a melee and a ranged weapon and you fight through levels while getting currency for permanent upgrades or getting temporary upgrades for your current run. You can bring along 4 of the girls with you to help with your run. They can be permanently upgraded with things you find from your runs. When you beat the game on a difficulty, you can try it again on a higher difficulty. The art is also really good. I haven't really enjoyed a game this much for a while so I highly recommend it.
