This is the official game adaptation of the 2022 film The Kangaroo Conspiracy, based on the cult book series by Marc-Uwe Kling — a phenomenon in Germany that features a talking, communist kangaroo who lives rent-free in the author's apartment and critiques capitalism between rounds of schnapps and schnitzel.

You’ve probably never heard of it. That’s fine. Neither have 99% of people outside of Berlin. But guess what? The books are available in English as "The Kangaroo Chronicles". So technically, you could catch up before playing. Or just jump in and embrace the confusion. It’s kind of part of the experience.

What is this game, exactly?

It’s a retro-inspired pixel-art jump’n’run adventure, following the surreal plot of the film: Marc-Uwe (the human) and the Kangaroo (the marsupial) get sucked into a conspiracy — and also, a computer game. That’s not a metaphor. They literally become pixel characters and must fight their way out while battling conspiracy theorists, questionable logic, and their own meta-commentary.
