Here's what it has to say!
The much-anticipated PC version of Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT is set to grace our Steam libraries this month, on the 16th of May 2024. As you gear up for this exciting release, it's crucial to ensure your system meets the necessary requirements for optimal gameplay. Fortunately, the system specs have already been unveiled, allowing us to prepare in advance!
To start your journey across Tsushima as Jin Sakai, you'll need to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i3-7100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD Recommended
It's already a pretty good start, given the fact that the graphics card is a bit below the most-famous budget cards, including the GTX 1650 and the GTX 1060 according to the Steam Hardware & Software Survey of April 2024. Meanwhile, the processor is already a good look as well, as i3 or equivalent has been a pretty common processor, especially when keeping in mind the fact that i5 has become so capable of gaming, let alone i7 and i9 processors.
Looking at it from the perspective of a Steam Deck, it's likely to assume that it will run. The graphics card is more capable than the minimum required, and the Steam Deck resolution is more forgiving than the likes of 1080p. Likewise, a note on the Store Page mentions portable PC gaming devices, which could be alluding to Steam Deck or ROG Ally portables, both of which are great news.
If you want to take advantage of a bit more, the recommended requirements are the following:
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
- Storage: 75 GB available space
- Additional Notes: SSD Required
We're not sure what the recommended PC specs are alluring to — what resolution and graphic settings — but it should be able to run the game pretty smoothly. It's worth noting that the RTX 2060 is already DLSS-capable, though it's safe to assume that for things like ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide resolutions (32:9), it'll likely require something more beefy.
We may not have direct confirmation for the official Steam Deck rating, but we're pretty hopeful and confident about its compatibility! The hardware seems to be able to run it, but we'll need to wait for further confirmation before we can know anything for sure.
