Aliens: Fireteam Elite - Pathogen Expansion

AFE: Pathogen reminds me of the old console game Aliens vs Predator Extinction; particularly a part in the Alien campaign where the original Alien hive has to face off against a human engineered Alien hive. While Pathogen is ofcourse its own thing, this got me really excited about the new story content for AFE as there is this new species that is making trouble for the Aliens, and we get to unravel the mystery. While the content wasnt mind blowing, (for me at least), i am pleased to say that the story wasnt disappointing either. Pathogen is absolutely worth getting, (on sale preferably), but if nothing else it adds more great content to AFE, which is already in my opinion, a good and fun game to play, especially with friends. My only real complaint, and just like the base game, is that there just wasnt enough of it there. I really like the game as a whole, and i want more content for it...MUCH more. Furthermore, and this may just be me, but I was also hoping that Pathogen would come with more of the ship being explorable; perhaps a secret mini game and or easter eggs, and things to interact with that you have to unlcock or discover somehow or something like that. Sadly that isnt the case, but maybe this will be something to come in the future! So if AFE has a problem, its that there is simply not enough of it to offer to the player, and Pathogen does little to quench the desire for more AFE. On the contrary, Pathogen just makes you want more bigger content sooner, rather than later. Not necessarily a bad thing, but also not quite a good thing either if you know what i mean. With all that said, i can certainly recommend Pathogen if you like the game and want to add more to it, or if you are thinking about getting into it for the first time. Just wait for a good sale.
