About Assassin's Creed Syndicate Gold Edition

About this game

The Gold Edition includes the Standard Edition and the Season Pass.

London, 1868. In the heart of the Industrial Revolution, lead your underworld organization and grow your influence to fight those who exploit the less privileged in the name of progress:

Champion justice

As Jacob Frye, a young and reckless Assassin, use your skills to help those trampled by the march of progress. From freeing exploited children used as slave labour in factories, to stealing precious assets from enemy boats, you will stop at nothing to bring justice back to London’s streets.

Command London’s underworld

To reclaim London for the people, you will need an army. As a gang leader, strengthen your stronghold and rally rival gang members to your cause, in order to take back the capital from the Templars’ hold.

A new dynamic fighting system

In Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, action is fast-paced and brutal. As a master of combat, combine powerful multi-kills and countermoves to strike your enemies down.

A whole new arsenal

Choose your own way to fight enemies. Take advantage of the Rope Launcher technology to be as stealthy as ever and strike with your Hidden Blade. Or choose the kukri knife and the brass knuckles to get the drop on your enemies.

A new age of transportation

In London, the systemic vehicles offer an ever-changing environment. Drive carriages to chase your target, use your parkour skills to engage in epic fights atop high-speed trains, or make your own way amongst the boats of the River Thames.

A vast open world

Travel the city at the height of the Industrial Revolution and meet iconic historical figures. From Westminster to Whitechapel, you will come across Darwin, Dickens, Queen Victoria… and many more.

I enjoyed the storytelling and characters far more than I did Unity and really dug the character switching between Evie and Jacob, it falls behind in every other catagory of game play. The combat is not as good, the freerunning is nonexistent (incredibly disappointing after how fluid and beautiful Unity had made the system) and it just doesnt feel as fun to PLAY. If they had just reskinned Unity's systems, this would have been a perfect game.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is in my opinion the penultimate entry in the franchise. The game is filled with historical characters like Charles Dickens, Karl Marx, and Charles and well known locations in London like the Big Ben and the Buckingham Palace. Many buildings have interiors and feel well integrated into the gameplay. To deal with London's wider streets players are given a rope launcher, both to quickly scale buildings and to launch a zipline to cross larger gaps. The dreaded expansive sewers are mostly gone from this entry, which is very refreshing. Getting lost in maze-like sewers was my least favorite part of Unity. What I missed most from Syndicate was getting to do difficult indoor climbs in either historical landmarks or Isu Era temples. Ubisoft's invasive monetization attempts are also quite annoying. There's no multiplayer so if you ever feel the need to buy money or resources just go for a cheat code instead. I largely didn't care for the Gold edition content. The extra missions were nice, but the extra equipment you get only provides level 9 stats once you reach level 7. The permanent 10% experience boost is also mostly inconsequential. I would still recommend getting the Gold edition over Standard if you think the DLCs might interest you.

I love to feel like I'm in Batman by Gaslight. I like to play stealthy and this game really supports that idea. You can't go wrong with throwing knives! I know the parkour is a downgrade from Unity, but the visuals of Victorian London and the stealth + the controversial rope launcher made this game So fun to try and beat.
