About Doom Eternal

About this game

Published by Bethesda and developed by id Software — the minds behind Quake and Wolfenstein — DOOM Eternal brings back the chaotic FPS action. Hell's army has invaded Earth, and it is up to you to keep them from destroying all of humanity. Are you up to the task?

Dress to Impress

As the sole hope for humanity, you'll have to be well-equipped. That means you'll have a shoulder-mounted flamethrower and retractable wrist blade, along with upgraded guns and mods, and even some abilities! You'll be as fast and strong as you'll need to be to send them right back.

All the Loot

As you slay the demons, you'll get back everything you might need, such as weapons and armour. Are you in a pinch and need some health? No problem! Get a glory kill for some and restore some!

May The Best One Win

The 2v1 multiplayer mode is perfect for some hectic battles against friends. Fight it out in a best-of-five-round match with a fully-armed DOOM Slayer against two player-controlled demons! Who will win?

Steam Deck Compatibility

DOOM Eternal is verified for Steam Deck, which means there’s nothing stopping you from slaying some demons whilst sitting on the porch!

Worthy successor to the long line of id software fps games.

I have been playing id software games since the very beginning. Since the original Castle Wolfenstein (or as it was known fondly, wolf3d) ms dos game. I love them! Sure, the hellish theme throughout make me uneasy sometimes, and I do wish they would have a more.. heavenly sort of vibe, but, the playing experience still is in a league of it's own. Truth be told, I shy away from multiplayer games. They are just not my thing. And yes, the single player story line is quite weak. And yes, Doom Eternal gameplay is a tad hyperactive, but still. It is so immersive. And the levels so well designed. And it works so well in my machine. This is gaming bliss. Maybe it is a good thing that the single player version of the game is so fast paced. It forces me to stop after about an hour. Otherwise, I would go on a weekend doom eternal binge, real life be damned! If you're on an AMD video card, don't hesitate to turn on ray tracing. I have an RX6600xt, and I have yet to see it slow down with raytracing enabled. And I have it installed on a mechanical hard drive. No stutters. You just have to be a wee bit patient for the game to begin. And rarely more than 30 seconds loading time. It is THAT well optimized. Just wear headphones when you play, and certainly don't play with kids around. It is an adult game, with heaps of violence. Lots of bare skin, just not of the human kind. Or the normal human kind. So, prudes need not worry. But non-violence advocates, definitely stay away from this game.

It is a 10/10 definitively, gameplay like Doom2016 but more challenging and improved; maybe you prefer previous Doom2016 because of the innovation but that formula here is more polished. Climax for the singleplayer arena shooters
