DOOM Eternal - Deluxe Edition also comes with:

  • Year One Pass
  • Demonic Slayer Skin

As the sole hope for humanity, you'll have to be well-equipped. That means you'll have a shoulder-mounted flamethrower and retractable wrist blade, along with upgraded guns and mods, and even some abilities! You'll be as fast and strong as you'll need to be to send them right back.

All the Loot

As you slay the demons, you'll get back everything you might need, such as weapons and armour. Are you in a pinch and need some health? No problem! Get a glory kill for some and restore some!

May The Best One Win

The 2v1 multiplayer mode is perfect for some hectic battles against friends. Fight it out in a best-of-five-round match with a fully-armed DOOM Slayer against two player-controlled demons! Who will win?

Still requires Bethesda.net login despite giving up on the service!

This piece of garbage still requires a Bethesda.net login - not to play, but even to get to the main menu! - despite Bethesda having given up on their so-called service. There is, however a way of playing online without having to register and login if you don't want to give such a scummy corporation any more of your valuable data; simply create inbound and outbound rules in your Windows firewall to block any and all connections - done! That being said, I would NOT buy this game again and would not have bought it in the first place if I had known that this scummy business practice was still a thing even when they officially turned back to Steam... Honestly? Paying a single cent would've been a waste of good money for this crap.

It's much more fast paced and arena-shooter esk than the 2016 Doom. Personally, I didn't really like it as much. 2016 Doom was incredible, but this one is not the same kind of shooter. It's harder, not focused on the story as much, and they don't let you play the way you want; you're forced to play in a style the developer wants you to. You run out of ammo so ridiculously fast that you are forced into patterns to keep going. Shoot, chainsaw, melee, shoot, chainsaw, melee, ad nauseam... They also require a Bethesda account to play it on ANY platform. I's so sick of these publishers all wanting their own launcher and account. I regret buying it without noticing that it's not on Steam. It's fun overall, but I quit towards the end. It just wasn't enjoyable after a while. Some may like the new style, many don't.

New features are nice, but are pushed too hard.

Aesthetically neat, and the story isn't bad, but with how hard the game pushes you to use every ancillary tool, it ends up far clunkier than it's 2016 predecessor.

Fast paced action! Very enjoyable and satisfying demon slaughtering experience. This game builds upon the experience and the story of Doom (2016) and it is a must have. The deluxe versions adds two additional campaigns which are essential to the experience and I would suggest getting the Deluxe version. Further than that, I would also suggest on getting the Doom (2016) game as well.

Way too many jumping puzzles. If you like platformers, you love this. If you hate platformers, you'll hate this. Why mess with a winning recipe? This latest Doom has wreaked the franchise. Boo, Devs. Boo!

Loved it. Finished it One X when it was released. Since got a PC and been rebuying the games I loved on my console, this being one of them especially where I never got round to starting the DLC first time round. Looks brilliant on PC too (3080Ti).

Catastrophic slip-up after the superior Doom 2016

A near universal step BACKWARDS compared to Doom 2016. Doom Eternal has neat bits of lore with tedious level design, confusing layouts and sadly opts to make a cheap one-time boss \ miniboss enemy a recurring "Lol hard " enemy. Thing is, this enemy breaks the game's rules and is largely invulnerable except for split seconds or splash damage. The game opts to drastically limit your ammo to force you to swap weapons instead of allowing the player to enjoy freedoms to play how they want. I literally have ADHD and the amount of micromanagement *bullshit* between refill hp now refill armor now refill ammo, a weird new hyper punch , chainsaw and other shit to keep in mind in worse arenas is a frustrating experience even before this recurring "lol hard" enemy makes things even more tedious. It's too much. It's too much for a person with 2 decades of gaming experience and with ADHD to keep track of all the bullshit the game wants you to keep track of. The hub level also sucks. WAY too confusing, unnecessarily big, garbage to navigate. *But*. I do enjoy the added movement options. Dashing, double jumps, I feel like they could have spiced up a better game, or a better version of this, quite considerably. The movement options are where the game is an unquestionable step forward. Cutting ammo, forcing you into bullshit *literally CONSTANTLY* and nerfing your base melee to be worthless (Literally the weakest enemy will kill you if you try to out-punch it, making the doom guy actually hilariously weak) are all bad decisions. Hot garbage decisions that limit player agency, options, and freedom. It is a positively infuriating game that does bafflingly little right - even before you factor in the treatment of the composer (Google Mick Gordon Doom Eternal for a fun time...) . Very hard *do not recommend* this game. I have played Doom 2016 on Nightmare and beat it happily, but I could not finish this piece of crap on normal - I quit 2, maybe 3 levels away from the end in sheer boredom\frustration.
