"Ultimately, while Batbarian may not blow your mind, it’ll offer the odd chuckle, and mechanics just robust enough to keep you coming back."

KeenGamer

"Batbarian was a delightful trip through the deep dark abyss. A huge effort that could have had a lot more problems, it stuck the landing beautifully. With obvious influence...

PC Invasion

"A wonderfully crafted Metroidvania that should have genre fans plenty excited. It's blending of combat, platforming, and puzzling keeps the gameplay fresh and varied throughout...

It's not the best at anything, but it makes up for it with its charm. The humour in its dialogs, the cartoony presentation, the clever puzzles, the challenging difficulty, the rewarding exploration... It all makes for a better game than the sum of its parts. It loses some of its luster in the latter levels, where difficulty spikes out of control, exploration doesn't feel as rewarding and level design takes a bit of a dive. It never reaches the heights of the games it pays reverence to, but it's a very good game nonetheless.

Batbarian did not vibe with me despite is many pros, sadly. The music is good, as are the dialogues and humor, i like the combination with the puzzles. At first the platformer parts work, the bat mechanic is very fun but eventually, wgen levels get harder, the platforming feels worse and worse and the different bats are more and more frustrating to handle. Mayne the is just generally too hard for me but i eventually quit and didn't finish it.
