Episodic FMV game with just the right amount of cheeze and love.

FMV games can be so difficult to get right, since it limits the sorts of mechanics available, and you have to get the acting, production, cinematography all right too. It's like having to make 2 good forms of media with a handicap on both. This is one of the few that stays entertaining. It's just cheesy enough without ruining the stakes, and the episodic nature makes it easy to stop and come back to.

I've had some technical difficulties that keep me from giving this game a perfect score, like the video occasionally having a hiccup where it skips ahead a second or the audio goes away for a second, causing me to miss a word here or there. This can break immersion and make a sentence not make sense. But when the game is working, it's delightful! I love both of our protagonists, and each chapter is an interesting adventure or misadventure. If you don't happen to have the same issues I'm having, or if you can overlook them, this is definitely one of the best FMV games I've played and I'm pretty sure you'll love it too. It's kinda like the X-Files, but even more intentionally corny in the best ways. Episodes are short, so you can spread them out over time if you want like watching an episode a week.
